Siohvaughn Funches Sues D-Wade’s Attorney and Dolton Police Department

Siohvaughn Funches is moving away from her ex-husband and on to accusing more people of mistreating her. The former basketball wife recently accused Dwyane Wade’s attorney and the Dolton police department of assaulting her in 2012.

The Chicago Tribune reports,

“The ex-wife of NBA basketball star Dwyane Wade is suing her former husband’s attorney and the Dolton police, alleging they assaulted her and filed false charges against her.

Siohvaughn Funches-Wade, who lost custody of the couple’s two boys in 2011, contends in the federal lawsuit that Wade’s attorney James Pritikin and Dolton police ‘worked together in a common plan to cause false charges to be initiated against’ Funches-Wade.

Funches-Wade was arrested on June 16, 2012 and charged with child abduction, unlawful visitation interference and resisting arrest. She claims she was ‘violently attacked’ during the arrest at her home in South Holland and suffered a torn rotator cuff, according to the lawsuit.”

This isn’t the first time that Siohvaughn has called the court system biased. Funches told media and a number of local residents that her rights as a mother are few, and freedom of speech is progressively becoming a thing of the past when it comes to her relationship with Wade.

“Dwyane Wade is offering to pay only some of what he owes me if I sign an agreement never again to discuss what happened in our marriage or with our children. I refuse,” said Funches during a public demonstration in which she sat on the street like a homeless person next to a sign that read, “NBA Miami ‘Heat’ star mother of his children on the streets.” At the time, Siohvaughn was protesting the court’s decision to give Dwyane more time to make past due child support payments.

Siohvaughn Funches has two kids, Zion ad Zaire, with Dywane Wade. The couple moved for divorce in 2007, and was granted marriage dissolution in 2010.
