Meet Sherry Todd Green: New Electronica Song-Writer, In The Woods
I like finding new artists that are unique and authentic like Lianne La Havas. Today I just want to share with you a new artist on the scene and her name is Sherry Todd Green. Her music features strong vocals and poetic verses in the spirit of Tori Amos, and is quite refreshing in a music world dominated by pop music. When I see women of color branching out into alternative music genres and speaking on world issues like human trafficking; I just want to spread the word and share.
A bold new independent singer-songwriter has hit the music world by storm with her debut album, In The Woods, just released in September 2012. Sherry Todd Green has brought her powerful lyrics to life with her addictive voice, which has been called both haunting and beautiful. With a unique mix of underground electronica, piano and other instruments, she’s beginning to move people across the world.

After 8 years of this new life, Sherry struggled inside with the undeniable need to start making music and performing again. In the fall of 2011, she began writing songs and making music about the things happening in the world that she cared about. Some of these things like, human trafficking, which is the basis for the song, “#7,” have been said to fuel the music in her again and from this journey, the In the Woods album was born.
