Rapper/actress Queen Latifah is always a person on the move, trying out new ventures. She’s come a long way from the streets of Newark, New Jersey. Her newest undertaking has her taking on the likes of Simon Cowell, looking for the next big talent in America. She’s set to be the executive producer of a new show called The Star Next Door.
The reality show will star industry greats like pop legend Gloria Estefan and country star John Rich, as they scout for talent all across the states. The show will be offering a different twist on current talent search shows, such as The Voice, American Idol and The X Factor and will be shown on the CW network. Matter of fact, you might have a better shot in actually getting a chance to met an industry mentor one-on-one that could literally change your life. So how does this show differ from the rest?
In this new take on the music competition genre, superstar mentors…will travel to where the talent is, immersing themselves in the lives and towns of these local performers and preparing them for the chance to represent their home city on stage, live, in front of America.
That’s better than auditioning with a lot of people, don’t you think? The Star Next Door will premiere during the summer. Sounds promising!
