Activist Cornel West & Singer Raheem DeVaughn Are Cell Buddies

Yesterday, activist, Princeton University professor and commentator Cornel West was arrested during a protest on the Supreme Court steps in Washington D.C., along with singer Raheem DeVaughn.  According to the Washington Post, West first attended the Martin Luther King Jr Memorial Ceremony, then traveled over to the Supreme Court, to join in with the Stop The Machine protests. Last night, Raheem’s crew posted this picture on Facebook of the singer being arrested:

Damn Radio Rah!  At this time, they’re still behind bars.  No word on when they’ll be set free. Raheem is set to perform at a cancer charity event in about 10 days so I’m sure he’ll be out by then…hopefully. And personally, with West’s disrespectful comments about President Obama, I’m not feeling too badly about his current location. He’ll be OK.  Check out the video of the arrest, after the jump…

…we will not allow this day of Martin Luther King Jr’s memorial to go, without somebody going to jail…

Uhh…OK Mr. West…*side eye*
