Kelis Says Nas Is The Biggest Disappointment In Her Life

When were you happiest?
This has been a really good year so far.

What is your greatest fear?
Rodents. It’s more than a rational fear, it’s a phobia. I don’t even want to see them on TV.

What is your earliest memory?
My mom’s red nails.

Which living person do you most admire, and why?
My mom. She has been a fashion designer and run a catering business.

What is the trait you most deplore in yourself?
I don’t have any patience.

What is the trait you most deplore in others?
Being judgmental.

What is your most treasured possession?
My little munchkin, Knight, who is 10 months old.

What makes you unhappy?
Feeling that what I do is in vain.

What do you most dislike about your appearance?
I don’t think in those terms.

If you could bring something extinct back to life, what would you choose?

What is your most unappealing habit?
I click my gum.

What is your favourite book?
I have a favourite writer – Octavia Butler.

What would be your fancy dress costume of choice?
Anything with a mask or a headpiece is always exciting.

What is your guiltiest pleasure?
I save up series, and then sit there for 12 hours and watch them – I like anything from 30 Rock to The Office.

What do you owe your parents?
Gratitude and respect.

What or who is the greatest love of your life?
My son.

Jaime Pressly – I’d love to be her friend – Tina Fey and Vanessa Williams‘ character in Ugly Betty. Which words or phrases do you most overuse?

I used to waitress and work in clothing stores.

My ex-husband.

Fishing and rollerblading.

I felt like I was dying when I had salmonella poisoning a few years ago.

More God.

My baby.

It used to be my baby, but he sleeps through now, so just thoughts.
