Rapper Ja Rule Under Attack By Gay Alliance (GLAAD)

Ja Rule GLAADRapper Ja Rule, had the following comments to say about MTV and their portrayal of homosexual relationships:

“Lets talk about all these [expletive] shows that they have on MTV that is promoting homosexuality, that my kids can’t watch this [expletive],” Ja said. “Dating shows that’s showing two guys or two girls in mid-afternoon. Let’s talk about like that! If that’s not [expletive] up America, I don’t know what is.”

GLAAD released an official statement and had this to say about Mr. Ja Rule, and his comments:

“No fair-minded person can look at JaRule’s interview with Complex Magazine and believe for one second that his children could be more harmed by what they might see on television than by the vulgarity and prejudice that comes out of their father’s mouth. Now that media have seen JaRule’s intolerance unmasked by his own words, they have a responsibility not to provide in the future a platform for his ugly, vulgar displays of prejudice.” [Source]

MG Says: It’s not like Ja’s record sales can hurt any more than they already are. This may actually backfire on GLAAD and help Ja Rule sell more albums. Ja Rule has a point, the only problem he targeted gays when he should have said, that MTV needs to take all sexual laced programs targeted at teens off the air. Play more music as Justin Timberlake suggested. However, Ja Rule’s misogynist lyrics and his expletive filled tirade is just as harmful as over-sexed teen programs.
