Melanie Brown tells Larry King that the relationship may have been short, but she and Eddie were definitely in love and offers tattoos as proof, “We didn’t make set in stone plans to be married but we definitely spoke about it. Stephen Belafonte Charge With Domestic Abuse
Belafonte admitted attacking Contreras at her Beverly Hills home in May 2003. He was charged with battery and court papers filed 24 hours later accused him of “willfully and unlawfully” using violence against her.
Belafonte pleaded no contest to the charge but escaped jail with a suspended sentence and probation. He was ordered to attend a year-long domestic violence programme which he only completed it in 2005, after twice being thrown out for absenteeism.
But forgiving Contreras is optimistic Belafonte has reformed since the incident, saying, “The past is the past. He’s a changed person now.”
