Now, is anyone surprised by this? I’m certainly not. But Forbes went ahead and made it official. They’ve named Jay Z and Beyoncé the highest earning celebrity couple, between June 2012 and June 2013. They’ve estimated to have made a staggering $95 MILLION dollars. Woo! A couple that breaks the bank together, stays together!
Jay Z’s recent Watch the Throne album went platinum and launched a world tour that brought in $1.4 million per night in America. (Beyoncé) Knowles, who took a short break when her daughter Blue Ivy was born in January last year, was back with a vengeance this year with her Mrs. Carter world tour, which grossed an average $2 million per night.
And that’s not even counting Jay Z‘s investment in the Barclays Center in Brooklyn and his business venture with Roc Nation Sports. The couple in second place, Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen, are trailing by $15 million. Racks on racks on racks!
I don’t know about you but I think Jay Z‘s MagnaCarta HolyGrail was a good album. Wasn’t great, and I can’t say that it lived up to its hype but it got quite a few rotations out of me. One of the best songs on the album finally has a video to accompany it. Jay Z and Justin Timberlake hit us with plenty of artistry, slow-mo lyrics and flashing lights for the Holy Grail video.
I can say that I love how Jay Z has been more artistic with this album, in the videos. I’m loving it. Check out the video below:
What’s an awards show without an awards show after party in which a fight breaks out? According to The New York Daily News, Diddy hosted a VMA after party at Dream Downtown with girlfriend Cassie. Also in attendance were Jay Z and Beyoncé. Seems that someone apparently got too close to Diddy and Cassie for comfort and Diddy proceeded to get into a fight with them. Beyoncé then started shouting for them to stop and Jay Z stepped up to separate people and get Bey to safety.
Side Note: According to rumors circulating around the internet, that certain someone was allegedly rapper J Cole. -BUT- according to Diddy those rumors are false!!! Diddy cleared up those rumors quickly via twitter:
I usually don’t address rumors but I got too much respect for my bro @JColeNC. We are friends. The rumors are not true. We had a great party
Whew! That sounds like a SNL skit waiting to happen! Seems like there was a bunch of witnesses to the fight too. Jamie Foxx, Pharrell, Will.I.Am, Busta Rhymes and Russell Simmons were all watching from the sidelines.
How many of you Samsung Galaxy users got in on one of the million copies of Jay Z‘s new album Magna Carta Holy Grail? *raises hand* It’s a great album but the official date of release is July 9th for the rest of you guys. However, last night Jay and wife Bey celebrated at a Brooklyn warehouse with Samsung Galaxy. And Twitter user @seoulcialite posted this great photo from the party on Instagram.

I’m sure it was a great time! Early buzz surrounding the album is nothing but greatness. What about you? Do you like what you’ve heard? And if you haven’t gotten it yet, will you be coping it?
I tell you, what. You can say anything you want about Jay-Z but that man goes for what he wants with no fear. Nothing but respect for that. Within a few short months, Jay-Z has obtained his licensing to be an NBA sports rep. And he’s taken a huge step by signing Oklahoma City Thunder star Kevin Durant onto Roc Nation Sports.
Impressive! Kevin tweeted this photo of them signing the paperwork, saying “grateful for this opportunity with Roc Nation Sports. It’s go time.” Jay has already signed top players in other sports to Roc Nation Sports, including New York Jets‘ Geno Smith and the New York Yankees‘ Robinson Cano. I expect that he’ll continue to push for nothing but the greatest players, if you ask me.
