Even as one of the most powerful and successful singers in the world today, Beyoncé still has moments where she’s left feeling vunerable. And I’m certain that’s what she’s feeling right now. According to UK’s The Sun, Beyoncé is having security beefed up for a performance in London, after receiving threatening letters from a stalker named Bassey Essien.
Essien has already been warned to stay away from Beyoncé, 31 — who won an anti-harassment order in the High Court in 2011, prohibiting him from pestering her.
Court papers revealed Essien, of South West London, had been sending threatening letters to the star since 2009 and made a bizarre claim she was an imposter who had killed the real Beyoncé.
You know, I find it kind of funny that people are ready to speculate on Beyoncé being pregnant with another child, when she was up and performing on stage at 3 months and folks didn’t catch on. But I guess everyone has been EXTRA speculative this time around. E! Online says they have confirmation from a number of sources that Beyoncé is indeed pregnant.
I take it all with a grain of salt. Yes, the dress she wore to the MET Gala DID cleverly conceal her body…but the costumes on her tour are pretty much all tight fitting and I haven’t seen a little baby bump or anything, except maybe here. And quite frankly, I’ll wait until the expecting parents themselves confirm before I get caught up. But who knows??? Maybe Blue Ivy‘s sibling will be revealed 9 months from now…
This morning, Power 105.1′s The Breakfast Club debuted Kelly Rowland‘s new single off of her upcoming album Talk A Good Game called Dirty Laundry. And the song is quickly becoming controversial. Kelly seems to be baring her soul about being physically abused, depressed and even a little jealous of her ‘sister’ Beyoncé. Now this can all just be a story she’s created with the song…but…I don’t think so.
While my sister was on stage killing it like a mother/I was enraged feelin’ it like a mother/
Bird in the cage, you would never know what I was dealing/ we went our separate ways but I was happy she was killing it/
Bittersweet, she was up I was down/No lie I feel good for her, but what do I do now/
Meanwhile, this n-gga putting his hands on me/ swear y’all don’t know the half of this industry/
I have to admit. Beyoncé and her marketing team are so freaking smart, it’s ridiculous. First she gave us the Pepsi commercial and featured a new song called Grown Woman. Now, she’s done the same thing with H&M. Teasing us with pics for their print campaign, this new H&M commercial features additional looks from the swimsuit collection and a brand new Beyoncé song called Standing In The Sun.
It’s like we’re getting snippets of her new album, complete with commercials that are more like music videos, before it’s even been printed. Brilliant. Oh, and I really like Beyoncé with the dark hair. I hope she rocks it more often. Check out the
music video commercial below:
Time Magazine has been doing it’s list of 100 Most Influential People for a long time. And every year they present us with people we know and love and are new to others. This year, the list consists of some of the most powerful Black people in America. Even the world. Among the chosen are President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama. Not to be outdone, JayZ and Beyoncé also turn up on the list. And one of America’s favorite storytellers, Scandal creator Shonda Rhimes, also carved out a place for herself.
When Time Magazine presents the list, they have a group of peers type up the write-up for each person. President Obama‘s write up is written by Hilary Clinton, JayZ‘s write up is written by New York mayor Michael Bloomberg, Shonda Rhimes is written by Oprah Winfrey. Big names and heavy hitters all around! Check out the full list of influential people here.
