Swizz Beatz is addressing the naysayers who criticized him and his blended family for vacationing together in St. Barths earlier this year. The producer recently stopped by The Breakfast Club to talk about the trip that has gained much attention and speculation.
“They want the clouds to be black,” said the producer of those who called Alicia Keys and Mashonda Tifrere silly for being cordial with one another. “They were saying all kinds of things. ‘Oh, MaShonda stupid. Alicia is stupid.’ This and that. I said no, there is kids involved. We got to go to graduations for a long time. We got to go to games for a long time, you understand?”
I don’t know if it’s just me but it seems like there’s a lot of movies starring, directing and/or producing movies this year. AND I LOVE IT. Next up this year is The Inevitable Defeat Of Mister And Pete. The movie’s executive producer is Alicia Keys and stars Jennifer Hudson, Jordin Sparks and Anthony Mackie. It also is the acting debut of two young actors, Skylan Brooks and Ethan Dizon.
The story is the tale of two kids, Mister and Pete, who are forced to fend for themselves one summer after their mothers are both taken away by authorities. It’s already made it’s intial debut at Sundance Film Festival and has already garnered some Oscar buzz. The movie comes out October 11th. Check out the trailer below:
It looks like Alicia Keys is setting a theme here. Her first single was Girl On Fireand now we have Fire We Make featuring my husbandMaxwell. I have to say, I much prefer this Fire than the former. Alicia has a great voice for sultry and soulful singing and she stays well in her lane here.
And what I can I say about Maxwell that I haven’t said before? I’m hoping that this feature is kind of a segway for us to get used to hearing his lovely voice again with a release of his next album blackSUMMERS’night. But this will do, for now. Shot in the French Quarter of New Orleans, this one might have you calling your boo to make some late night plans. Check out the steamy video below:
Watch the video below of Alicia Keys performing during the NBA All Star Gamehalf-time show. I think it’s hard to put her performance in perspective after being hypnotized by Beyonce for the last two months. To be honest, I’m still in a Bey-fog. We all have to remember Alicia Keys is in a her own lane…doing her own thing…we shouldn’t make comparisons.
What did you think?
Three of the four songs performed during half-time were my least favorite Alicia Keys’ songs of all time, so I am going to reserve my words on this performance.
Of course the weekend of the Grammy Awards, also means a week of parties, and a night of after parties. Last night at The House of Hype venue, Swizz Beatz, Chaka Zulu, Noel and Kevin Lee hosted the Monster Grammy After Party. Monster is the company that owns Beats by Dre, and Swizz Beatz recently signed on as partner with owners Noel & Kevin Lee. It only seems right that the best people in sound, would host one of the hottest parties, at one of trendiest spots, The House of Hype.
Check out pics of Alicia Keys, Jermaine Dupri, Rick Ross, John Legend, Shaquille O’Neal, Ne-Yo, Terrell Ownes, and of course Swizz Beatz:
Lots more pics from this event when you continue…Definitely a star-studded party:
