ET recently had the opportunity to visit the set of the Whitney Houston biopic, which is expected to premier on Lifetime sometime next year. They spoke with Angela Bassett and she responded to the reaction of fans and also the family of Whitney. ET also had the pleasure of speaking with Yaya DaCosta and Deborah Cox and also received their reactions. The camera was able to catch a glimpse of Yaya in action as she is set to portray Whitney on film. Cissy Houston spoke out for the first time and shared her thoughts on the upcoming film, she said:
“Lifetime has chosen to go ahead with the movie about Whitney in spite of my family’s objections. No one connected with this movie knew Whitney or anything about her relationship with Bobby,” she said in a statement to ET. “In the two years since Whitney’s death, many people have stepped forward to speak about their close relationship with her. I find it difficult to believe people who knew and supposedly loved her would participate in a movie about her done by folks who didn’t know her. We are exhausted by the continuing misinformation and comments offered by people who did not know her. Please please let her rest.”

It seems like everyone has been busy in the Harris household as both T.I. and Tiny released new music this week. First up Tiny released her new single “What the F*ck You Gon Do”, and she made sure to treat her fans with the official music video when introducing the track. It’s been some time since we’ve heard some new music from Tiny, but I guess telling her husband to get his stuff together before she walks out is best expressed through song. T.I. then followed when he released his new single “Stay” featuring Victoria Monet, and of course his song is about working things out and staying together. Whatever is going on in their marriage I am sure they will be fine and not divorcing like many speculate them to.

Recently it was announced that Deborah Cox will be the voice singing Whitney Houston’s music in the new Lifetime biopic, which is expected to premier next year. Fans were already questionable when Yaya DaCosta was tapped to play Whitney, and they became even more cautious once they learned they will not be able to hear Whitney’s voice. TMZ was able to get a hold of a recording of what sounds like Deborah Cox’s version of “I Will Always Love You”. It hasn’t been confirmed if this is actually the version to be used in the film, but if so having Deborah sing the music for the film may have not been a bad idea after all.

The newest R&B Divas: LA cast member Leela James has some new music to share with fans. Her new single “Save Me” features singer/ songwriter Joe Ryan, and their two voices mixed together definitely produces a heavenly sound. The single will appear on her latest project Fall For You. Aside from her new music, Leela James made her reality television debut as one of the new divas on TV One’s R&B Divas: LA. There may be some new divas in the mix, but there is definitely still some trouble following the group of ladies in this new season.

I think it’s pretty safe to say that Jazmine Sullivan’s comeback is definitely in full effect. Back in May she released her new single “Dumb” featuring Meek Mill, which is expected to appear on her new project Reality Show. In the music video, cheaters are being exposed. Each cheater that’s exposed and labeled as dumb just happen to be puppets or dummy’s. The entire treatment for the video is pretty funny, but pretty accurate at the same time.

Last year Lil Wayne announced that he signed his daughter Reginae Carter to his Young Money roster and now her first official single and music video has finally arrived. “Mind Goin Crazy” is her first single and it’s pretty cute and the Young Money signee is definitely trying to prove that she can follow in her father’s footsteps when it comes to music. Reginae was one of the original members of the ATL based girl group The OMG Girlz when the group first started out. However, with the age differences between the girls, she decided to part ways a few years back.
