ET recently had the opportunity to visit the set of the Whitney Houston biopic, which is expected to premier on Lifetime sometime next year. They spoke with Angela Bassett and she responded to the reaction of fans and also the family of Whitney. ET also had the pleasure of speaking with Yaya DaCosta and Deborah Cox and also received their reactions. The camera was able to catch a glimpse of Yaya in action as she is set to portray Whitney on film. Cissy Houston spoke out for the first time and shared her thoughts on the upcoming film, she said:
“Lifetime has chosen to go ahead with the movie about Whitney in spite of my family’s objections. No one connected with this movie knew Whitney or anything about her relationship with Bobby,” she said in a statement to ET. “In the two years since Whitney’s death, many people have stepped forward to speak about their close relationship with her. I find it difficult to believe people who knew and supposedly loved her would participate in a movie about her done by folks who didn’t know her. We are exhausted by the continuing misinformation and comments offered by people who did not know her. Please please let her rest.”

It seems like everyone has been busy in the Harris household as both T.I. and Tiny released new music this week. First up Tiny released her new single “What the F*ck You Gon Do”, and she made sure to treat her fans with the official music video when introducing the track. It’s been some time since we’ve heard some new music from Tiny, but I guess telling her husband to get his stuff together before she walks out is best expressed through song. T.I. then followed when he released his new single “Stay” featuring Victoria Monet, and of course his song is about working things out and staying together. Whatever is going on in their marriage I am sure they will be fine and not divorcing like many speculate them to.

Recently it was announced that Deborah Cox will be the voice singing Whitney Houston’s music in the new Lifetime biopic, which is expected to premier next year. Fans were already questionable when Yaya DaCosta was tapped to play Whitney, and they became even more cautious once they learned they will not be able to hear Whitney’s voice. TMZ was able to get a hold of a recording of what sounds like Deborah Cox’s version of “I Will Always Love You”. It hasn’t been confirmed if this is actually the version to be used in the film, but if so having Deborah sing the music for the film may have not been a bad idea after all.
