You know, it must not be easy to live the life of The Cloth. While as humans we inherently aren’t perfect, people in the church clergy are held to a higher standard, with their lives forever being under a microscope. And here’s a case in point: AmericaPreachers.com posted a story about a pastor who was voted out of his church after attending a Rick Ross concert.
Pastor Rodney Wills was just about to reach 4 years at Mt. Salem Baptist Church. He is the youngest pastor to be installed at 26 years old and is now the shortest term pastor in Mt. Salem’s 109 year history. On Saturday, Mt. Salem voted him out for attending a local Rick Ross concert. With a vote of 11 to 3, the 14 deacons met at 11pm Saturday night to discuss and come to a conclusion that they did not need his services anymore.
Do you remember the story of Orlando Shaw from last month? He’s the man from Nashville who has 22 children by 14 different women. And now, according to News Channel 5, he may just be getting his own reality show. Good job, America.
Many people have wondered why Rosenberg couldn’t just order Shaw to have a vasectomy.
“People have the right to have children and there’s no constitutional limit on the right to procreate,” said Rosenberg.
Shaw could do it himself, but he said that was something he would resist.
“Have you seen the movie War Horse? I’m a war horse and I don’t want to be cut down there and it won’t work the right way no more,” said Shaw.
News Channel 5 also talks to his mother, who seems to have a *Kanye shrug* mentality about the thing. Check out the story below. Because it’s almost too unbelievable.
There are just some stories that are just so out there that you think they can’t possibly be true. But unfortunately, this one is. Channel 5 News in Nashville, Tennessee shared the story of Orlando Shaw, a 33 year old man whose younger days of ‘getting around’ resulted in having 22 children.
“I was young and ambitious and I love women. You can’t knock no man for loving women,” said Orlando Shaw whose relationships have led to several children.
It is estimated the state pays more than $7,000 each month in assistance to help support all of Shaw’s children.
They estimated that Orlando would have to work three or four FULL TIME jobs in order to pay all of the back child support that he owes. He’s spent time in jail so even getting one job is proving to be difficult. On the upside, Orlando says he’s proud of all of his children. On the WTF side, Orlando says he originally wanted 50 kids but his children will help his family legacy go on. *Crickets* There are more manageable ways to do that, sir. Ever since he helped in rescuing three kidnapped women and a child, I’m sure Charles Ramsey of Cleveland has had so many happenings in his life. Charles and his…uh…vibrant interview went viral within hours. But I think the part that stuck with everyone the most is that his heroism and kindness shined bright like a diamond. MSN News is reporting that Charles, who pointed out that he was eating a BigMac from McDonald’s when he rescued the women, has been rewarded with the ultimate burger lover’s gift: free burgers for life.
The special burger card, which is good for life, is called the ”Chuck Card” and was thought up by Scott Kuhn of the Driftwood Restaurant Group.
“We want to honor our local hero with local food,” said Kuhn, who operates four of the restaurants participating in the offer.
Hobbies. That’s the key word of the day, folks. Get you and your family some. Otherwise you might wind up getting involved in stupid stories like this. NBC 7 San Diego is reporting that 33 kids from a local high school were suspended after posting a twerking video on YouTube. The video was filmed at Scripps Ranch High School by students in a media class. During their 6th period class, 32 students took to twerking while one filmed. Using the schools media equipment. They then edited and uploaded the video to YouTube. *The Price Is Right losing horn*
The administration at the school was fed up! They suspended all 33 students. No word on what the specifics are but one student took to twitter to report that they were banned from prom AND from walking across the stage for graduation. The administration says they broke school policy. I don’t know why in God’s green earth they thought this was a good idea but here they are… SMH Check out the news story, when you continue…
I’ve seen this YouTube clip go down my Facebook and Twitter feeds a few times this week but never click on it until today. Oh my gawd, why didn’t I click on it sooner??? Fourteen year old Aldrich Lloyd Talonding has a voice that’s straight from heaven. In the clip Aldrich sings alongside the accompaniment of his cousin on guitar and sings one of the best covers of Luther Vandross‘ Dance With My Father that I’ve ever heard. And in just a matter of a few weeks, he’s landed an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
MSN Entertainment News said that Ellen called Aldrich personally and asked him to be on the show to perform. Aldrich has said that he wants to be a doctor but he would leave a singing career up to God’s will. Just amazing. Listen to his beautiful voice below:
