Halloween is right around the corner and children (and a few adults) everywhere are ready to participate in some Trick-Or-Treating and indulge in some yummy, free candy. Well, if you live in the city of Fargo, North Dakota, your kid might come home with a letter and probably a face full of tears. According to Fox 6 News, a woman only known as Cheryl is planning on handing out letters to children that she considers ‘moderately obese’ as opposed to candy.

“I just want to send a message to the parents of kids that are really overweight,” a woman only known as Cheryl said Tuesday. “I think it’s just really irresponsible of parents to send them out looking for free candy just because all the other kids are doing it.”
It doesn’t happen a whole lot but some days there are just times when I read an article and I just considering getting off the internet for the day, because I just can’t deal. Well, this one made me think about hitting that off switch again. The New York Post shared the story of one Stephanie Smith, a young woman who’s on a quest to fulfill her boyfriend Eric‘s request for 300 sandwiches. The end result? An engagement ring.
One lazy summer afternoon just over a year ago, I finally gave in. I assembled turkey and Swiss on toasted wheat bread. I spread Dijon mustard generously on both bread slices, and I made sure the lettuce was perfectly in line with the neatly stacked turkey slices.
Eric devoured the sandwich as if it were a five-star meal, diving in with large, eager bites. “Babes, this is delicious!” he exclaimed.
As he finished that last bite, he made an unexpected declaration of how much he loved me and that sandwich: “Honey, you’re 300 sandwiches away from an engagement ring!
If there’s one thing that can be said about talent shows like The X-Factor, it’s that it shows us that there are a lot of talented people out there who haven’t been discovered. Case in point is X-Factor contestant Ashly Williams. Ashly shared that her inspiration for singing is her mother, who was murdered when she was a little girl. Using this as her guide, Ashly sings a rendition of Whitney Houston‘s I Will Always Love You.
Anytime someone attempts to sing a Whitney song, I hold my breath. Because you really have to knock it out of the park to do it justice. And let me tell you, if Simon Cowell says that talent like yours is the reason he bought The X-Factor show to America, you’ve knocked it out of the park, city AND country. Grab some tissues and watch the beautiful performance below:
Happy Friday everyone! It’s been a long week, full of all sorts of fails, but I had to save this one for last. Gotta start that weekend off with a laugh. So what happens when America starts to become obsessed with ‘twerking’? Things like this.
YouTube user Caitlin Heller tried her best at making a sexy twerk video for her boyfriend and things go south, rather quickly. I’m guessing since she posted it, that she’s OK but boy I yelled so loud when I saw this! LMAO! Check it out below:
You know, it must not be easy to live the life of The Cloth. While as humans we inherently aren’t perfect, people in the church clergy are held to a higher standard, with their lives forever being under a microscope. And here’s a case in point: AmericaPreachers.com posted a story about a pastor who was voted out of his church after attending a Rick Ross concert.
Pastor Rodney Wills was just about to reach 4 years at Mt. Salem Baptist Church. He is the youngest pastor to be installed at 26 years old and is now the shortest term pastor in Mt. Salem’s 109 year history. On Saturday, Mt. Salem voted him out for attending a local Rick Ross concert. With a vote of 11 to 3, the 14 deacons met at 11pm Saturday night to discuss and come to a conclusion that they did not need his services anymore.
Do you remember the story of Orlando Shaw from last month? He’s the man from Nashville who has 22 children by 14 different women. And now, according to News Channel 5, he may just be getting his own reality show. Good job, America.
Many people have wondered why Rosenberg couldn’t just order Shaw to have a vasectomy.
“People have the right to have children and there’s no constitutional limit on the right to procreate,” said Rosenberg.
Shaw could do it himself, but he said that was something he would resist.
“Have you seen the movie War Horse? I’m a war horse and I don’t want to be cut down there and it won’t work the right way no more,” said Shaw.
News Channel 5 also talks to his mother, who seems to have a *Kanye shrug* mentality about the thing. Check out the story below. Because it’s almost too unbelievable.
