I’m speaking as a girl who had a lot of abortions and I swear to God, if they had shown me a picture of the fetus… I would have put my child in a lot of situations that wouldn’t have been good because I didn’t have the mental capacity to deal with having a child.

Wow! She said a lot of abortions. I don’t know what to say about that, but I DO appreciate her honesty because not many women would give such a testimony publicly, let alone to the whole nation. If you want to know why Sherri Shepherd was in such a bad place in her life, she explains the reasoning behind the abortions:

Before I converted to Christianity, I was a Jehovah’s Witness. In 1993, my mother was dying from diabetic complications. My sister was heavy into drugs, and we would have to go and get her from crack houses. I was in a very physically abusive relationship. I was sleeping with a lot of guys and had more abortions than I would like to count. I had very low self-esteem and just wanted to die. I felt if someone killed me, it wouldn’t even make a difference. But God showed me that it would make a difference.

The ladies also brought up a good point. Many of the people that are fighting for pro-life laws are the very women (Conservatives) that turn their backs on poor women when they choose life– by fighting legislation that provides welfare, food stamps, childcare, and early education. For so many poor and abused women, plus women addicted to drugs, there are very few options when they choose to have children. If we are to be a pro-life country, we have to do better, and have more compassion for women in “circumstances”. We can’t be pro-life and judgmental and selfish, too. I agree with President Obama let’s start by reducing the need for abortion first, and educate women on sexual health and reproduction.Similar Posts:

I want to see more pictures of Beyonce post-baby like the one below, and I want to eventually see pictures of the beautiful Blue Ivy. The main people hating on the Knowles or the same people flocking to the internet to see more pics. *scratches head*

It seems like Beyonce has done everything right, and for some reason that’s so hard for people to love. I read an interesting article on Huffington Post by Rev Michael Water, about Jay-Z and Beyonce and how they have re-established the traditional family unit in the hip-hop culture. I’m scared that all of this negative baby-bumper talk is just another way to tear down the black family.  I understood the outrage with Alicia Keys and Fantasia because families were broken apart, but in this situation, Jay-Z and Beyonce are creating a family with both a mother and father together in matrimony, without cheating on or tearing apart another black family.  So why are you so mad?

Honestly, I hoped that my generation, the hip-hop generation (or Generation X), deeply scarred by the absence of their own fathers, would not repeat their fathers’ mistakes. Increasingly, I see my hopes dashed. As a pastor, I recently came to the grim recognition that of the last fifteen children that I have baptized, only four times was the father present to participate in the celebration of the sacrament. Of those fathers present, only one father was married to the woman with whom the child was conceived at the time of the baptism. And for me, it appears as if the trend of fatherless baptisms will continue in the near future.

Today, many families are “redefined” at the very point of conception as marriage is no longer considered a prerequisite towards beginning a family. I applaud Jay-Z and Beyonce for accomplishing what many in my generation have failed to do, breaking the cycle of absenteeism established by their parents’ generation. {Read the rest at Huffington Post}

Arizona Governor Jan Brewer traded words with President Obama after she greeted him at a Phoenix airport Wednesday.

Brewer and Obama “spoke intensely for a few minutes” after he landed at Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport, according to a White House pool report. At one point, the GOP governor shook her finger at the president.

“He was a little disturbed about my book,” Brewer told a reporter after the incident, referring to her political memoir, “Scorpions for Breakfast.” In the book, Brewer depicted Obama as “patronizing” during an earlier meeting.

“I said to him that I have all the respect in the world for the office of the president,” Brewer said. “The book is what the book is. I asked him if he read the book. He said he read the excerpt. So.”

Brewer said Obama told her “that he didn’t feel I had treated him cordially.”

“I said I was sorry he felt that way but I didn’t get my sentence finished,” Brewer said. “Anyway, we’re glad he’s here. I’ll regroup.” {Jan Brewer Disrespects the President}

SOPA is a bill created in Congress, and PIPA is a bill drafted in the Senate,  to stop the piracy of US goods abroad. In other words, the bills are designed to stop people in other countries from selling bootleg American products for profit like prescription drugs, “Polo” Shirts, Toy Story 3 DVDs, or any reproduction of  illegal content. Sounds good, right? NOPE! The problem is that SOPA as written will take away due process, and give the government too much power to shut down suspected websites without a trial or prior knowledge.

So if your site is suspected of illegal activity, the government, and the person filing the complaint can get a court order to have your site shutdown or your links removed from Google, without your knowledge or consent. That’s good if you’re a bad guy in Sri Lanka illegally selling skin bleaching cream on the internet that causes cancer, but that’s bad if you’re a legitimate website wrongfully accused of piracy. Since this is America, we believe in due process, meaning you are innocent until proven guilty and you should have a chance to prove your innocence in a court of law before any actions against your privacy is revoked. The government should not have the power to take your property without due process, yet this bill will allow the government to do just that, if they so choose.

In order to protect our Constitutional rights to property and free speech, we have to fight this bill, even if SOPA‘s and PIPA‘s demise, protects some really bad people. Why? BECAUSE we do not know when a really good site, that is at odds with the government politically, will be shutdown under this law as well. So in order to not give the US government and the Justice Department that much power over American citizens, many sites are protesting.

The people (lobbyists) who are really driving this bill are people in the music and movie industry who do not want you getting those free downloads. People like Ralph Lauren and Tiffany & Co whose brands are heavily bootlegged, and pharmaceutical companies losing money to illegal generic drugs from other countries. We are not unsympathetic to these business, many of us are victims as well, but the government should not have the right to shutdown websites without conclusive proof or a fair trial.

There has to be a better way to target these pirates abroad without taking away rights of Americans, or policing the internet. The internet has some bad websites, but for the most part it’s the only freedom many people have. Certainly we do not want government agencies involved and crippling free speech. Therefore, many websites are protesting by blacking out their sites. That way, we can imagine a world where the government controls what we can and cannot do on the internet. Imagine no Google, no Amazon or no Facebook. Any of your favorite websites can be shutdown in a blink of eye, and we do not want to live with that possibility.

Hopefully, you now understand more about SOPA, and why people are protesting. BUT there is one more thing!!! What can you do to keep the internet free from this bill? CLICK  HERE and send a quick note to your congressman and urge them to vote NO on SOPA.

You know, I just try to be me and my hope is that over time, people get to know me. And they get to judge me, for me.

Say what now?? First of all, WHY anyone would try to discredit a movement that is all about being healthy, I have no idea. Second, Congressman Sensenbrenner, who has the jowls of Alfred Hitchcock, obviously is not used to seeing a woman who’s healthy and shapely.  First Lady Michelle is one of the healthiest and most active First Lady’s ever.  Third, why would you even make a disrespectful comment that can be repeated to the public about the First Lady of YOUR President of The United States.  This is has been the trend of the Republican Party, as a whole, the way I see it.  Blatant disrespect.  The congressman issued released a statement but he MUST do a LOT better, if you ask me.  Check out what he had to say…

The first lady announced in an email Monday that her October bid to break the record for the most people doing jumping jacks in a 24-hour period succeeded. Mrs. Obama says 300,265 people participated, shattering the old record.

Ginger White does have a few skeletons in her closet, including evictions and lawsuits, but White’s phone records proves that she has some relationship to Herman Cain, outside of business. There are 61 calls and texts between the two. Since White is unemployed, Herman Cain has been helping her out “financially”. What Republican you know will give someone money without any work in return? That would be social welfare, so we all know Ms White would have to work hard for Herman Cain’s Republican dollars. So this is the sixth woman linked to Herman Cain, and one thing is clear to me, Herman Cain sure likes a lot cream in coffee. The saddest part of it all, is that his wife and family are now hurt by all of these allegations coming to light. Sadly, these Republican candidates have insulted President Obama’s integrity because he’s a liberal, and some of the attacks have been very personal. But when it’s all said and done, President Obama doesn’t seem to have as many skeletons in his closet as Herman Cain, at least not as many women.

The images are very strong, but we have to send a strong message. We are not wanting to be disrespectful of the leaders … we consider them “conception figures” making a statement of brotherhood with a kiss.

This is no different from black face. I have to disagree with the Un-Hate Campaign on this one. There are so many proud gay and lesbian couples that would pose for this campaign. BUT to make people into something they are not without their consent or permission, is mean-spirited. If you do it for laughs, satire, or comedy, that is different because you know your intentions are not necessarily good intentions, but to photoshop people into something they are not to fight against hate, only undermines your platform. The point of Un-Hate is to accept people as they are, yet this campaign is turning people into something they are not. The campaign is definitely proactive, but it certainly has the opposite effect of Un-Hate. This also sends the message that homosexuality is a choice, and think there are many gay people who would disagree.

Don’t get me wrong, I understand what they are trying to do, I just think there are better ways to do it. Like asking leaders, politicians, or everyday people to pose or submit their own.

Get the details, when you continue…President Obama and First Lady Michelle were out of town on Friday when the shots were first heard, and authorities have just now found the bullets from the Friday incident…

WASHINGTON — Federal and local authorities investigating a shooting that struck the White House are seeking a man believed to have fled the scene on Friday shortly after gunfire was heard in the immediate vicinity. The Secret Service said that one bullet had been stopped by the reinforced windows installed inside the historic exterior glass used at the White House. One additional round was found outside.

The sounds of shooting were heard on Friday, and although the rounds discovered Tuesday have yet to be conclusively linked to that incident, officials said there was little doubt of it; an examination of the exterior of the White House was continuing, but the main concern was to find a suspect with a background of legal problems and aberrant behavior.

President Obama and the first lady, Michelle Obama, were away on Friday, when the shots were heard shortly after 9 p.m.; Mr. Obama was in San Diego on his way to an Asia-Pacific economic forum in Hawaii, and is now in Australia.

But the likelihood that shots were fired at his residence by a suspect who is not in custody will surely raise security concerns.

Secret Service agents heard multiple shots fired on Friday and witnessed a car speeding away, westbound, on Constitution Avenue, according to a law enforcement official. The car and a weapon were found, abandoned, at a corner of Constitution Avenue and 23rd Street within a couple of minutes, this official said.

The shooting occurred 750 yards from the White House, just outside the outer security perimeter of the White House complex, which extends to the south edge of the Ellipse. {Bullet Strikes The White House}

When I first saw the ad, my first thought was “….uhh…..WHAT?”  And to be honest, that’s pretty much been my thought ever since.  Cain’s staff urged Block to just be himself, but the smoke section of the ad does nothing but confuse me. Then, what’s up with the 8 second slow mo smile? So, what do you think?  Does the ad effectively promote Herman Cain and his campaign or is he just asking to be clowned? Let me know what you think!
