Yesterday new and upcoming artist Miesa performed for an intimate crowd at the Rockwood Music Hall in New York City. The Siri Music Group/ eOne Music recording artist is currently working on her debut album and is expecting to release it this upcoming fall. She set the mood for the evening as she performed her new single “Nope (Can’t Let Go)” then she went off into other tracks from her album, with “Blame My Ex” expected to be the next single. Aside from her own original music, she put her vocals on full display as she covered Emeli Sande’s song “Breaking the Law” and John Legend’s “All of Me”. In a brief interview after the show, the New Jersey native reveals that there are a multitude of artist that has inspired her musically.
“My father plays the piano, he’s a musician so at the piano he’s always playing different songs, so we never knew the name of the artist we just knew the song. My whole family sings so it wasn’t like a particular artist that inspired me, it was like Prince, The Beatles, Mint Condition, Babyface, the list goes on, I just like to think of it as a whole melting pot of artist.”

This year I promised you a few more personal posts about the woman behind the blog. I do not like the limelight, but as a blog personality, I need to learn to appreciate the platform I have. I want to share a few of the things I love about Dallas and the places I like to frequent.
The “Mister.” and I are celebrating ten years of matrimony. So we decided to have a few date nights last week, and we chose Crossroads Restaurant at the House of Blues in Dallas as one of our stops. Unfortunately, we chose to visit on a night that didn’t have any bands playing, but we still had a good time meeting the manager, taking a tour of the facility, and enjoying some good food.
I have been to the House of Blues in the past for concerts. Just recently I attended the Snoop Dogg concert with VIP access to the Foundation Room, a cool Moroccan theme lounge where special guests or members can hang before and after the concert. But this is the first time I’ve gone to HOB specifically to dine.
Chris Brown is in rehab and he’s still making the headlines! First he drops a new song, Loyal; then TMZ reports that his probation in the Rihanna case has been revoked, and today we find out Karrueche Tran, Draya Michelle, Meagan Good, Christina Milian, and Adrienne Baillon have teamed up for a new anti-bullying campaign called Be You! Something tells me, knowing black twitter, this will somehow have the opposite effect.

Just want to say ¡CONGRATS! from Dallas, TX to our own Ms. Toni, and let her know that we are rooting for her to win big. Ms. Toni’s was selected out of thousands of people and multiple rounds of auditions to appear on Wheel of Fortune. We are so excited for her!!!
Must be nice to have something like this crossed off your bucket list so young. Maybe now I can follow my dream of being on Jeopardy. Anyway, we just want to wish Ms. Toni lots of luck with a dose blessings. Gone make that money, honey!!!
I feel like singing Drake right now, “Started from the bottom now we’re here.” LOL!
Last night in Los Angeles, Sports and Hollywood collided at the 2012 ESPN ESPY Awards celebrating the best and brightest in sports.
Matt Kemp of the LA Dodgers was the best dressed male arriving on the red carpet. We love that he is so involved with the Hollywood sports community. He is truly taking advantage of what being a sports star in LA has to offer…lots of perks!
Also in attendance was some of your favorite sports stars such as Jeremy Lin who took home an ESPY Award for “Best Breakthrough Athlete”-well deserved for catching attention of a global sports audience.
