It’s not who was there, is more like who wasn’t there!!! Everyone from Jennifer Hudson to Gabrielle Union to lost and found folks like Elise Neal, Golden Brooks, and Morris Chestnut. The red carpet was burning with so much support for Steve Harvey’s book turned movie, Think Like A Man, starring Meagan Good, Michael Ealy, Regina Hall, Kevin Hart, Jerry Ferrara, Taraji P Henson, Gabrielle Union, Romany Malco, Terrence J, and an appearance by Chris Brown.

So imagine all of these cast members and their celebrity friends and family, and you have one fun movie premiere night full of black celebs. Think Like A Man will be coming to theater near you, April 20th.

Octavia Spencer (The Help) wins Best Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture, Morgan Freeman wins Cecil B. DeMille award, and Idris “Yas” Elba (Luther) wins Best Actor in a Miniseries or Made-for-TV Movie at the 69th Annual Golden Globes Awards in Beverly Hills. I was hoping Viola Davis could round out the win with a Best Actress in Drama for her role in The Help, but the award went to Meryl Streep (The Iron Lady), who is arguably one of the best actress of our time. It’s hard to beat Meryl Streep!

In case you didn’t know because I certainly did not until now. Michael Ealy is featured along side Kate Beckinsale in Underworld: Awakening in 3D. Yes ladies!!! You can watch Michael Ealy and those blue-eyes up close and almost personal in Sony Pictures’ Sci-Fi Thriller, Underworld 3D: Awakening. Here’s a little motivation for you:

Check out more pics of Michael Ealy in the movie, which hits theaters January 20th. Plus a brief synopsis of his role in the movie, for those of you new to the Underworld series.

Michael Ealy is playing the role of Sebastian, a human once married to a vampire that was killed by the Antigens (scientists who experiment on vampires and werewolves). His character will team up with Selene (Kate Beckinsale) to preserve the vampires against human who want the vampires extinct, and against the Lycans Clan (super engineered werewolves who are the immortal enemies of the vampires). In other words think, Twilight on steroids, without the teeny-bop love plot, but instead lots of action and visual effects to keep you on the edge of your seats…and of course Michael Ealy!

Anything with Micahel Ealy in it…is definitely worth seeing.

Kim Wayans, has been missing from the scene, but has returned in a new movie role. The only female comedic actor of the Wayans brand, is now taking on a new role as a serious dramatic actor in the new film Pariah. Just watching the clip brought tears to my eyes. Pariah is the story of Alike (played by actress Adepero Oduye). Alike is an African-American teen struggling with her sexuality, and trying to find her way in the world while fighting her family’s disapproval and denial. Kim Wayans plays Alike’s mom, a traditional Christian woman who does not approve of her daughter’s transitioning lifestyle.

This is one of the first films that seriously deals with sexuality in the black community. This film takes a close look at how fighting over homosexuality tears black families apart because of strong belief systems. Check out the trailer and let me know what you think:

Queen Latifah, Dolly Parton, Paula Patton, KeKe Palmer, Vivica Fox and many more celebs, hit-up the red carpet at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre, for the Los Angeles premiere of Joyful Noise. KeKe Palmer and Queen Latifah look amazing on the red carpet. I need to know how Dolly Parton keeps her waist so tiny at age 65?

Joyful Noise is a star-studded movie featuring Queen Latifah, Dolly Parton, and KeKe Palmer, about a small time choir in Pacashau, Georgia. The city of Pacashau, Georgia has fallen on some hard times and the citizens of Pacashau are hoping the choir can win a gospel competition, National Joyful Noise Competition. The two leaders of the choir played by, Queen Latifah and Dolly Parton, have different visions for the choir– one traditional and the other more contemporary– which leads to constant fighting. But in the end, with a budding romance between their daughter and grandson, the two women find away to bring their visions together.

I am loving Paula Patton in the mini-denim like jumper.

Will Smith Is Back In ‘Black’

Can you believe it’s been 10 years since Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones‘ last Men In Black film? I can’t. But alas, it has been and in 2012, Will and Tommy will be back with Men In Black III. I personally loved the first one and even did the dance from the video. Don’t act like I was the only one!

The marketing for this movie has literally just begun, with Will posting the trailer on his Facebook page less than an hour ago. There’s not even any official information about the plot on the movie’s IMDB.com page. But from the looks of the trailer, seems like there’s going to be a time warp element to it and, once again, Tommy Lee needs to be rescued by Will. To me, the trailer seems to have more of a serious tone to it than comedy. Check out the trailer after the jump and see what you think about it…

And not only that, this bit of news should too: the folks over at TMZ have shared that Ice Cube says he’s bringing Friday back. But with the last few Friday films, that may not be the greatest news…HOWEVER, Cube says his plan is to bring back the original cast! That’s right! Chris Tucker. John Witherspoon. Regina King. Nia Long. All back for the movie that’s become a comedy classic.

A rep for Cube Vision Productions tells us … “Absolutely yes the studio is in the process of getting the entire original cast to do another ‘Friday.’”

The statement continues, “[Ice Cube] is very excited about this and has every intention to make it happen.”

Just last month, TMZ spoke with the musclebound behemoth who played DeBo … who told us both he and Chris Tucker are down to reunite for the 4th installment of the ‘Friday’

Dallas is the place to hide if you’re a celebrity. You can sneak in, take care of business, and exit quietly with little to no publicity splash. Oprah, Tyler Perry, and the cast of Red Tails which includes Ne-Yo, Cuba Gooding Jr, Terrence Howard, and Nater Parker attend a special private screening of Red Tails at the AMC Theater – Northpark Center in Dallas, TX. Red Tails is a based on the story of the Tuskegee Airmen, an esteem group of black pilots from the US Army Air Corps fighting as American heroes in World War II, during a racially segregated period in our country. This movie focuses on the struggles the Tuskegee Airmen faced integrating the US army, plus their desire to help America win a war and stand up for the values professed in the Constitution.

Friday is upon us, yet again! Woot woot! And what greater way to start the weekend off with some eye candy! Hot mommy of one and actress Paula Patton is gracing the cover of Complex magazine this month. And it’s safe to say that Robin Thicke wakes up every morning, knowing he’s won.

Wow! Paula talks about her marriage with Robin, noting that the key that makes it work is “desire”:

There’s no recipe. There’s no other way to say it—it’s true desire. We’re crazy enough that we just keep wanting to be together. We just don’t not want to be with each other. [Laughs] It doesn’t mean that we don’t have our ups and downs. We just don’t want to be with anyone else. That’s how we keep it together: desire.

Paula also discusses her role in the upcoming Mission Impossible movie, along side Tom Cruise.

Making Mission: Impossible was a dream come true. It challenged me as an actor because it’s so technical. Any time you’re challenged you get better. I learned so much from working with Tom Cruise—it was remarkable. Also, I got to do my own stunts, and that felt more freeing than anything I’ve ever done. To be able to be that physical was exciting.

Tyler Perry has been under fire for casting Kim Kardashian in his latest film, The Marriage Counselor starring Jurnee Smolett and Lance Gross. I am not sure why people are outraged that Kim Kardashian has a real job and real acting part, but they’re letting Tyler Perry have piece of their wrath. So in order to explain, or defend his decision, Tyler Perry sends you this message:

Hey guys,

I think many of you know that this is a very difficult time of year for me, so what I try to do is make sure that I’m working during this time. All I wanted to do was shoot a great film and try to keep my mind off the holiday grief that I have been experiencing for the past two years. I could not have imagined I’d be getting all these emails about Kim Kardashian. I HAVE SEEN THEM!! YOU HAVE BEEN HEARD!! …LOL. Now, may I say something? Can a brother get a word in?….LOL. Y’all gave me a new movie title, Tyler Perry’s “Diary of a Mad Black Woman Cause You Hired Kim Kardashian, Don’t Make Me Take Off My Earrings and Boycott Yo A**.”…LOL. Some of my ladies are upset. Ok, all jokes aside, can I have my say? Will you at least here me out?

I was in a Mexican restaurant and the cutest little old woman stopped me and said, “I want to talk to you about KAR-DAT- CHA-NEM.” I said, “Ma’am?” She said, “What is wrong with you putting her in the lead role of your movie?” By the time I explained to her that she was not in the lead role and why I thought she should be in “The Marriage Counselor”, she said, “Oh, I see your point and I can’t wait to see the movie.” So, if you don’t mind, I’d like to share with you what I said to her then maybe you’ll see why I wanted her in the film.

This movie is about a young lady named Judith (Jurnee Smolett), who grew up in the countryside of Virginia in a trailer park. She was raised in the church by her mother Sarah (Ella Joyce). Judith married her childhood sweetheart Brice (Lance Gross) and had the perfect life until she graduated college and went to work in the big city. After college, all she wanted to do was be a marriage counselor, but the only job she could find was working for a matchmaker named Janice (Vanessa Williams). Janice has several employees that work for her, including a woman named Ava (Kim Kardashian). Ava is constantly trying to influence Judith on everything from her shoes to her hair. Judith meets a man at work named Harley (Robbie Jones). Harley challenges everything in her life from her marriage to her husband to her faith. Meanwhile, Brice (Lance Gross), Judith’s husband works at a pharmacy owned by Mrs. Waco (Renee Taylor). Brice has just hired a coworker named Melinda (Brandy), who has some major demons that she is running from. In the end, the choices that both of these young women have made come crashing down on them and their lives will never be the same. I wish I could tell you more, but I don’t want to ruin it for you.

After I finished writing this movie, I sat back and re-read it. Half way through my read, the gravity of what I had written hit me. I knew that this message was not only for my age group, but for all audiences, especially the youth. ESPECIALLY THE YOUTH!! YOUNG FOLKS NEED TO SEE THIS!!! And not just the young people that follow me, but the young people that are following other young people, as well. I wanted a younger cast, that’s why I put Jurnee in the lead and invited Lance Gross, Robbie Jones and Brandy. About two months ago, long before I even heard about Kim’s marriage or divorce, I was trying to finish up the casting. I said to one of my producers, “who else is out there that young people are looking up to?” One of my producers showed me pictures that his daughter had taken of several hundred kids lined up around the corner to get into a Kardashian store. They wanted to meet Kim. I thought, what better person! She literally has millions of young people following her. I thought and still do think, that it would be very responsible of her to be a part of this film. To have the young people that look up to her, see her in a film that is about, what happens in life when you make the wrong choices. Whether you’re aware of it or not, to be honest with you I wasn’t, millions of young people adore her and are following her every move. If one of those young people see this film and find the strength to live a better life and not go through what these characters went through in this movie, then we have all done what I feel I’m being led to do here. I hope you understand. I really do!

And lastly, because I believe that my films speak from the inside out, why wouldn’t Kim Kardashian be invited into a film about Faith, Forgiveness and the healing power of God? What is wrong with that??

Tyler Perry is back with a new movie entitled, Good Deeds. Good Deeds is scheduled to hit theaters February 24th. Here’s the first official poster for the movie, which stars, Tyler Perry, Thandie Newton, Brian White, Rebecca Romijn, Jamie Kennedy, Beverly Johnson, Phylicia Rashad, and Gabrielle Union.

So what exactly is this movie about?

A successful, wealthy businessman, Wesley Deeds (Tyler Perry) has always done what’s expected of him, whether it’s assuming the helm of his father’s company, tolerating his brother’s misbehavior at the office or planning to marry his beautiful but restless fiancée, Natalie (Gabrielle Union). But Wesley is jolted out of his predictable routine when he meets Lindsey (Thandie Newton), a down-on-her-luck single mother who works on the cleaning crew in his office building. When he offers to help her get back on her feet, the chance encounter with someone so far outside his usual circle ignites something in Wesley. This one good deed may finally spark his courage to exchange the life that’s expected of him for the life he’s always really wanted.

Yeah. The movie. I loved the game. Hell, I even loved the TV show AND the game show. Yes, I know. I’m showing my age. But that game rocked and taught me about geography. Win! *Side-Note* I’m so glad Tracy Morgan is back with Tanisha Hall, I couldn’t believe she gave him her kidney, and soon as he was better, Morgan had another girl on his arm. I don’t what happened, but I am glad he’s back with someone who obviously cars about him.

Jordin Sparks Will Make A Good Sparkle???

Obviously you can tell that I am not a creature of change, and I have been resistant to the remake of Sparkle, but only because I love the original so much that I can’t see how anyone can make the movie better. Sure it’s a low budget dark lit film, but the cast, chemistry, music, and plot work well together. After seeing this video of Jordin Sparks singing At Last in a lounge with her Sparkle cast-mates, I suddenly have a feeling that this remake just may be decent, not great, but perhaps good. I don’t know if it’s the dark lighting, but suddenly I can really see Jordin as Sparkle.

*Banging head on desk* wondering why, why must they re-make Sparkle, and with this cast. No offense, I am glad black actors are being employed, but why can’t they remake Glitter, and leave Sparkle alone. Glitter can use some serious re-making. The new cast consist of Carmen Ejogo (a British actor) as Sistah, Jordin Sparks will play Sparkle, and Tika Sumpter is Delores. Hey, at least they got the skin-tones right. *bangs head again*

I torture my friends by making them watch Sparkle repeatedly. I am a Sparkle stan, thus the reasons why I like musicals, and this news right here hurts. On a positive note, at least I get to stare at Tika Sumpter through out the movie.

It gets crazier, Whitney Houston will play Effie, and she will NOT be a maid, Derek Luke is going to play Stix, Omari Hardwick is cast as Levi, somehow Cee-Lo Green and Mike Epps make their way into the film, while R Kelly handles the soundtrack. Wait, you mean they are not using the original music. *bangs head on desk*

Director Salim Akil (Jumping the Broom) will helm the film from a script penned by his wife Mara Brock Akil (The CW’s Girlfriends) {Source}

I did not like Jumping the Broom. *deep sigh* I may need therapy after this one. Seriously, this remake BEST be great!

Teyana Taylor Accused Of Fighting, Again

Teyana Taylor’s name is associated with fighting yet again. Whether or not she is innocent, this is the second time in just a few short months that she is accused of losing her temper and fighting. This time the person accusing her of fighting is director, Jean-Claude La Marre, while on the set of the movie Gang of Roses 2. Unlike the previous fight, this time Teyana Taylor is speaking out and I think I believe her side of the story. The reason I believe Teyana’s side of the story is because someone *whispers the director* leaked his side to Media Take Out. What creditable person would leak a story to MTO #justsaying? Anyway, it all started over a Teyana’s tooth ache, and went down hill from there.

Teyanna’s side of the story:

At the end of the day, this was a 40-something man who put his hands on a 120 pound, 20-year-old female who was sick and crying. I did nothing wrong.”[...]“[He] jumped on me and began swinging.

I didn’t understand why the antibiotics weren’t working. I thought I might die. Teyana went full ratchet and attacked the film’s Director, Jean Claude LaMarre. The snitch claims that, Teyana refused to do a scene,when she was asked, and then said she wanted to go home. But when the director refused her request, she began SWINGING at him and attacked him.Although the director was not seriously injured, he did have her subdued and eventually removed from set. When asked about the incident, LaMarre said “It was just a couple of scratches.
