I know I have been slipping lately, I have been enjoying my summer, so much so I almost forgot to post pictures of Usher’s son, Usher V. I have been waiting forever to see this child, and I let the moment almost slip right pass me. I’m happy to inform you, he is one beautiful baby boy. Here is an excerpt from the Essence interview with Hill Harper and Usher on fatherhood:
HARPER: If you could take your finger and touch your 9-month-old son, Usher V, on the head and impart some certain knowledge, what would you want him to know?
USHER: First of all, I’d actually look inside myself and evaluate what I felt like I missed from my own father.
HARPER: What did you miss?
USHER: Knowing that I was accepted. That I mattered. And hearing that he cared enough to put me before himself.
Kim Porter the on and off, but mostly on again girlfriend of Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs is on the cover of Jet with their beautiful twin daughters, D’ Lila and Jesse. Part of me says this woman is crazy, and the other part of me says this woman is rich. Love and money will make you do some crazy things. However, these babies are so cute and I know we will see them grow into beautiful teens, and let’s just hope they will be famous for their good behavior, and not infamous for their bad.

Erykah Badu in an interview with Giant Magazine gives up a small glimpse into her relationships with Andre 3000 and Common.
“I know about the backlash, the ‘Erykah Badu, if you look at her, she’ll make you change gods and wear crochet pants’ backlash,” she says. “But nobody looks at the things that those people have given to me.”
What have they given you?
“Just so much musical freedom. Common is the most humble person I ever met. Kind and generous. He reinforced that in me. Andre is very creative and artistic. All of that that you see of him, that’s all him. That’s how he is, and that gave me a creative push, too.”
Although Badu is fairly cryptic when discussing her old beaus, she allows this brief, whispered indulgence.
“With Andre, we were both very young, so we didn’t know what we wanted or anything. We just knew we were in love, and we didn’t care who saw us. With Common, it was a little bit more mature.”
I don’t think I’ve ever seen someone so happy to be pregnant. Halle Berry looks radiant in her InStyle photo shoot, showing off her baby bump. I love baby bumps and I am so glad we are free to take pictures like this. Just think 20 years ago this idea was taboo, and women were walking around wearing moo-moos.
Mary J Blige talks about her new album Growing Pains, and the dedication of her fans in the upcoming Billboard magazine. Her new album Growing Pains hits stores December 18th; it will make a great stocking stuffer.
“My fans are like shrinks for me,” Blige said. “Any time a person listens to you, they’re helping you, and there’s 5 million people out there listening to me. I’m like, ‘Wow, thank y’all for listening.’ So I help them and they help me, and we all help each other. I’m just happy they’re happy. All they want to know is that somebody out here understands their pain, their joy or whatever they’re dealing with, and I’m so glad they can do that with me.”

Rihanna is on the cover of You magazine, I have never heard of this magazine until today. Rihanna seems to be the queen of the magazine covers, and I just can’t keep up with the names. Her calling is definitely modeling.
Kim Kardshian had a launch party for her spread in Playboy. Her family and friends were at the even to celebrate. Kim’s reason for doing a spread in Playboy is quite simple, “I wanted to do it. I wanted to show that I’m not some skinny girl, I have a healthy body image, and I’m happy with my curves and who I am.” I think she left out the number one reason, money or publicity. Honestly, we can tell by her outfits that she has a healthy body image. I think I have more pictures of her backside than I do her face.
In an early post we saw Keyshia Cole on Tyra opening up about growing up with a mother on drugs. Ms. Cole has yet another revealing interview in the December issue of Vibe Magazine. I’m not sure why she needs to be topless, but I guess she’s bearing it all, pun intended. To see her candid interview on Tyra, click here. This couple is growing on me, I don’t know why. Now that I am over the shock of how the relationship started, I think I may like them together. Maybe it’s just the pictures, it is something about a man in love with his wife and son to be. I think Usher will make a great father and I am glad he has traditional values and stepped up to the plate to do the right thing by his child. Last, I think I get it now. She’s his best friend.

Alicia Keys is on my list for positive role models in Hollywood. Although I must admit I am not a bing fan of her music, I appreciate all the philanthropy she contributes to world, and for people of color. Ms. Keys will be featured in the November issue of Ebony.
