According to Reuters, Kim and Kris’ televised nuptials this past week brought in about 3.2 million watchers, solidifying her place as one of the most highest paid reality television stars today. Personally, I’m not a fan of reality TV. It’s an oxymoron, in my opinion (it’s supposed to be reality but you have script writers? So, I think we all pretty much believe that there’s some kind of agreement here, especially when talking about a person who has branded herself and created a mini empire.  But for the average person, what do you think?  Is having a prenuptial smart or is it starting off your marriage on the wrong foot?  Is it meant to protect everyone involved or is it preparing for the inevitable? None for me. It’s not a matter of judgement. I’m deathly afraid of needles. If there was a way to skip them, I would do it. And we’ve yet to come up with reasonable Botox in a bottle, so I’m just lucky I don’t have crazy wrinkles. I have a fine line around my mouth because I smile a lot. I’m not doing anything about it!

Honestly, it’s not like she needs plastic surgery anyway, she’s a beautiful woman. But when asked about butt injections, Gabrielle Union admits she needs to do something to change her back side from being too little:

My butt has gotten a lot better because it’s bigger. I do squats and walk on inclines. I don’t look like a scarecrow anymore. I should really back into rooms because that’s how confident I am.

I am glad she’s found her confidence!

I just don’t think there is any need for it. I’d rather be something positive, especially to young girls. It’s not something I want to represent and I find it a bit insulting as a woman. There’s a way to be sexy that’s not too in your face.

I like pure raw talent anyway, so you can give me a concert with a real singer like Jill Scott sitting on a stool, and I would be fine. We’re definitely going to get married and have babies. Not right now because we’re still busy and we still want to enjoy each other first. We want to go on vacation, travel and just enjoy each other’s company, but he’s definitely the one. We’re definitely going to lay it down and get it done.

OTR: What makes you stand out from all the other actors?

J. Kristopher: Ouch.  Because I have a lot of peers in this business, I hope they don’t take this the wrong way.  I’m just willing to do what it takes.  I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard excuses from people.  “I don’t do theater because it doesn’t translate to film.”  “I don’t do unpaid work.”  “It’s an audition but it’s raining.”  “I don’t feel like driving.”  For me, actors act.  When I came to LA, the only question I had was, “where’s the camera?”  Now I have the resume to show for it.

OTR: What are some things that people do not know about you?

J. Kristopher: I’m a beast.  I’m very thankful for where I am and what I’m doing.  At the same time, I’ve come from an athletic background.  When the buzzer sounds, game on.  I’m going to bring it, each and every time.  I’m the scrappy guy.  Might not be the guy who scores 50 a game but I’m going to try to out hustle you, dive for every loose ball, go for every rebound and take as many elbows as I can until it’s over.

OTR: What is your advice for budding actors?

J. Kristopher: Have Faith.  Go the extra mile.  If you choose to make this a career, it is a sacrifice.   It takes up a lot of time.  I don’t even have time for dating and I love women! (ha ha)  Believe in yourself.  You’re going to be faced with many challenges.  Finances: every thing costs money.  Headshots, auditions (gas), meters, classes, workshops, PR, clothes (for appearances), agent fees, manager fees etc.

People:  There are going to be some who belittle you. They will try to throw their own insecurities on you.  “I just don’t want to see you hurt.” “There’s just not enough roles out there for US.”  All of a sudden, you find yourself complaining.  You’re not dealing with HR either.  You’ll have people tell you, “You’re too big.”  “You’re too small.”  Or my personal favorite,  “Can you show me how they act in the ghetto because I have no idea.  If you want to make anything up, go for it!”  There will be people who will stick around and bleed you for information.  Once they know all there is to know about you and your contacts they split.

Then you’ve got life.  “Wow, I’m getting up in age, do I want a family?”  “My car just broke down.”  “My grandmother passed.”  My first year here, I was dead broke, my stepfather, my aunt, my grandmother and my uncle all died in the same year. I got into a four car accidents on the freeway. So many things BUT, take heart.  For God is with you always.  Concentrate on what He says about you.  Not the casting directors, not your family, don’t even trust yourself (you’re going to have rainy days).

Focus on Him and He will lead you where you need to be.

Tia and I have twin telepathy,” says Tamera. “I know exactly what she’s thinking, I can feel her and I can sense her. All I have to do is look in her eyes and I can tell what she’s thinking and visa versa.

Planking is THE dumbest sh*t ever. Planking was a way to transport slaves on ships during the slave trade, its not funny. Educate yourselves.

All his education I guess went into his deep rap lyrics about being a pimp and a playa. IDK

First off “planking” wasn’t a way to transport slaves. “Packing” was the way in which slaves were transported via ships. I hate when silly people say educate yourselves, because then it makes me wonder where exactly were they educated.

What books have Xzibit read on the subject? None! He’s read the same one post that has been spread across the internet that doesn’t even have a picture or illustration of slaves lying face down in a planking position. But no one has noticed that fact. Slaves were loaded onto the boat however they fit. There were two ways, loose packing and tight packing, not planking. The more cruel the ship owner the more ways the slaves were packed onto the ship. Brookes Illustration is the most famous example of how slaves were tightly packed onto slave ships, and in that illustration, the slaves are chained face up alternating head to foot. Someone found one line out of a history book that said some slaves were even packed face down using a plank collar, and started the rumor that planking came from slavery. Then all the sheep followed without bothering to pick up a book or to ask for the original source. Not to mention the person who invented the Lying Down Game, now known as “planking”, would have had to read a book on the North Atlantic Slave Trade in order to know that some slaves were placed in prone position face down with plank collars because all of the illustrations and diagrams on the internet show slaves face up or sitting down.

If you don’t like planking because you think it’s stupid, that’s fine. It can be stupid, but that’s why it’s so funny. But don’t call it racist, when you don’t even know how or where it started, or what the word plank actually means. The planks slaves were held in does not refer to the position of the slaves, but to plank of wood used. Plank means wood, and not slave or slavery…

If you don’t believe me, just go to Google Images and type in the word “planking”, and see what pops up…Planks of wood used to build ships and decks and other wooden structure. But, don’t get all your information from the internet, go to the book store or library and just read, or take a critical reading class. What isn’t so fun to watch, however, is this new generation of reality TV. It seems to be more about the drama and less about the storyline.

As you see on the show, I’m not a big supporter of the bickering, drink throwing and fighting, but when you put a group of strong, independent and vocal women who are going through or just came out of a bad relationship together, there’s bound to be a little drama.

I’ll be honest, I love reality TV.Actually it’s one of my guilty pleasure past times. Even before “Basketball Wives” I had my favorites, and I watched them faithfully. There is something appealing about seeing people deal with real life drama as you’re watching. Now, as executive producer of “Basketball Wives,” I know that’s not exactly how it happens, but it’s still fun to watch.

What isn’t so fun to watch, however, is this new generation of reality TV. It seems to be more about the drama and less about the storyline. That concerns me, especially now that I’m producing a reality show.

I have gotten both good and bad responses from viewers about “Basketball Wives,” and I certainly understand the opinion that the shows portrayal of black women is beginning to look somewhat negative.

As you see on the show, I’m not a big supporter of the bickering, drink throwing and fighting, but when you put a group of strong, independent and vocal women who are going through or just came out of a bad relationship together, there’s bound to be a little drama.

Let’s face it, we all know women like the ones on “Basketball Wives” and countless other reality shows: Women who are vocal if you cross them.

The problem for me is when black women are portrayed as only being that way and labeled different than their non-black counterparts for the same type of behavior. That’s when it becomes negative and damaging to our image.

I’m not saying we have to create shows that only paint a pretty picture about who we are, but there should be a balance and most of all some integrity to the shows we create.

That’s why I wanted to do “Basketball Wives.” I wanted to show what life is really like when you are with a professional athlete — and that sometimes all that glitters isn’t gold.

When I signed on to executive produce the show I had big plans and a long list of ideas. But boy did all that change as we started filming and I learned what all goes into executive producing a show. It’s a lot of work, and there are a lot of politics involved, but at the end of the day I do believe that the overall message is being told.

Look at Tami Roman (ex-wife of former NBA player Kenny Anderson and a member of the “Basketball Wives” cast). She was such an appealing addition to the cast because of her rags to riches to rags story of being married to a pro basketball player and after their divorce almost being homeless.

That’s the heart of “Basketball Wives,” and I believe that if you look closely and beyond the arguing and the fighting, you’ll see a group of women trying to get their lives back on track and figure out who they really are.

My role as executive producer of the show does not negate my concern for how black women are portrayed on reality TV, but I do believe that there are some shows attempting to strike a balance and have a positive message despite the drama. K Michelle: Yes, and you are going to laugh but, I want to be the King of R&B, not the Queen. I want to be King because they put us women in boxes where we can’t do or say certain things; the creativity I have from writing, playing, and producing. I don’t want to be compared, I just want to do me.

Think about it. We go through those rough transitions, whether we’re in front of the camera or not. You know! Going from being a young girl into becoming a woman and figuring out who we are, and blossoming our sexuality, and sensuality, and trying to understand. The thing about it, is that you have to live a little bit of who you’re not to know who you are.

I think the only unfortunate part is that these young people have to do it under a microscope. It’s no different than what you and I went through. I mean shoot, at 18, somebody had a microscope on me…Miley don’t have nothing on Jada Pinkett Smith [at age 18]. I can tell you that right now!!! {Source}

That is so true! I certainly wouldn’t want to live my life at 18 under a microscope or the public’s eye. Perhaps, we judge celebrity kids because  we feel like they have so much to lose, but they’re pretty much the same; just trying to figure out who they are.

The sad thing is that none of this rant was a joke.  His entire demeanor changed during that portion of the night.  He was truly filled with some hate towards us.  As far as I could see 10 to 15 people walked out.  I had to fight myself to stay seated, but I knew if I got up… he won.

According to Kevin Rogers on “Why I No Loner Like Tracy Morgan”:

I figured at some point the gay jokes would fly and I’m well prepared for a good ribbing of straight gay humor. I have very thick skin when it comes to humor; I can dish and I can take. What I can’t take is when Mr. Morgan took it upon himself to mention about how he feels all this gay s*it was crazy and that women are a gift from God and that “Born this Way” is bulls*it, gay is a choice, and the reason he knows this is exactly because “God don’t make no mistakes” (referring to God not making someone gay cause that would be a mistake).

He said if his son that was gay he better come home and talk to him like a man and not [he mimicked a gay, high pitched voice] or he would pull out a knife and stab that little N (one word I refuse to use) to death.

He took time to visit the bulls*it of this bullying stuff and informed us that the gays needed to quit being pussies and not be whining about something as insignificant as bullying. He mentioned that gay was something kids learn from the media and programming, and that bullied kids should just bust some ass and beat those other little f*ckers that bully them, not whine about it.

Tracy then said he didn’t f*cking care if he pissed off some gays, because if they can take a f*cking dick up their ass… they can take a f*cking joke.

I find it hard to believe that someone who just received a kidney transplant for whatever reasons drinking, would have the nerve to condemn another group of people. No wait!!! I find it hard that a comedian who uses the f-word, n-word, and other obscenities, would have the audacity to bring up the morality of God in a comedic routine. No wait!!! I have a hard time listening to a man who took his girlfriend’s kidney then hit the red carpet with another chick on his arm.

I haven’t seen the actual comedy routine, so perhaps I should slow down, take a breath, watch it first then form my opinion. But if what this guy Kevin says is true, I don’t understand why Christians are so quick to condemn one group and look over the many sins of another group.Similar Posts:

Q: What was that first job for you?

Sanaa Lathan: The funny thing is I’m playing a maid right now. I use to…there was an older…my grandmother had an older guy friend who lived in the building with us, and I would go over an clean his apartment when I was 13 years old. So I was kind of like a maid. I would make like…he would give me like $30.

Q: Most people would be like I’m not cleaning anybody’s place:

Tyrese Gibson: Talking about my first offical job? Where there was a check  in the mail? I worked at McDonald’s. That was my first job, my first offical job.When you in the hood you get money hook or crook. You just gotta do what you gtta do. So I couldn’t work officially to get a job until I was 16, the legal age to work, so I worked at McDonald’s, and I love it.

I started off on the grill, and then I went from the grill to the french fries, and then I went from the french fries to the drive through, and from drive through to the front register.

I was very happy, and then…On the first and the fifteenth is county day in the hood, and so there was a robbery on the first. When someone jumped over the counter in Mcdonald’s, shook me up. I ran across the street with my McDonald’s uniform on. Because even back then I was a thinking man and I said to myself, ‘Well after they finish robbing us for the burgers and the money, whatever they’re after, if they end up getting caught they gone take off on feet, and the probably want to hold one of these McDonald’s workers as hostage.’ So I was across the street shirtless. {laughts}

Yeah that’s what happened. That was my first job, and I was proud of it.

You know I don’t dwell in negativity.  I try and stay above it, but I wanted to say this to you.  You and I both know that there are folks out there that work overtime trying to keep people from seeing my movies. Even though I don’t say anything, it doesn’t mean that I’m not aware of it.

They say all kinds of things about the films, Madea and me. They call me everything, but a child of God. I even had someone tell me in a press conference that I don’t have a “white” following.  We all know that is not true.  Had they been on tour with me they would know White folks, Blackfolks, Asian folks, Latin folks, Navajo folks, and everyone in between was there laughing side-by-side having a good time.

It’s crazy the things people print without any facts.  What is also interesting is how hard they work to try and discourage you from going to see my films, as if you don’t know what you enjoy. I’m sure you know what I’m talking about!

But it’s okay, you know why? Because I know that they don’t get it!  They don’t get the spiritual side of this, they don’t get the folks that not only laugh, but also get something out of it that they can use to make their lives better. They don’t get that this is about more than making a movie and telling a funny story.  They don’t get that it’s about uplifting and encouraging the soul. They don’t get that most of you have been with me long before they knew who I was, and they don’t get that you have my back.  And to tell you the truth, it doesn’t matter if they get it or not,
as long as you do.  I thank God for you every day.  You know what you enjoy, you know what makes you laugh and gives you a bit of uplift after you’ve seen it.  So come laugh with me this weekend with Madea.

MADEA’S BIG HAPPY FAMILY opens in theaters this Friday. You know how important the first weekend is, so I sure hope you are planning to go out and see it. I promise you, MADEA’S BIG HAPPY FAMILY is funnier than them all. You will laugh ‘till you hurt, so take some aspirin to the movies with you.

On meeting Alicia Etheridge and falling in love:

We met…Twenty something years ago, it was about dance crews. She was in a dance crew out here in Los Angeles, and New Edition was out here and we would rehearse in the same places. So we hung out together. No physical-ness happened. And when I met her again after I was in the mist of a divorce, she was actually at my wedding because she was a friend of mine. So in the mist of the divorce we just hung out and…it happened. I don’t know how else to put it, but ish just happened.

We just started communicating in other ways.

On his relationship with Whitney, and sobriety:

No matter what you think about what you have, if what you have is not right for you, it’s not right for you.

Six years man, I’m good with mine.

On the Chris Brown comparisons in the media:

I never put my hands on Whitney or disrespected her in any manner.

Chris Brown just give that brother a break, because we don’t know what happened between them in that relationship. We don’t know what went on between them, too. I think Chris Brown is a talented artist. I think Chris Brown deserves a second chance, no matter what. Because he’s young and he’s talented. Rihanna is doing her thing, Rihanna moved on and people need to move on with what happened between their relationship. And, I think Chris Brown deserves a second chance.

Compared to things I’ve been convicted of, Chris Brown is a baby. Chris Brown is a good brother and I wish him the best. We need an artist like him. Kids need an artist like him.
