Vivica A. Fox debuted a new look at the Men in Black 3 movie premiere in New York City. The actress who once played Will Smith’s love interest on the big screen and who now has her own wig line rocked a short ruffled pixie cut wearing all white which gave off a more youthful appearance.

Meanwhile, Jada Pinkett Smith shows off in a sexy shimmery see-through halter gown by Bill Blass. When does she ever NOT look good!

The stars hit the red carpet for yet another awards show, Billboard Music Awards. Like all awards shows there are some highlights and some low-lights. Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz hit the red carpet, dressed in black and white. That dress is working the mess out of Alicia Keys hips. I definitely saw more tweets regarding Alicia Keys’ hips than I saw tweets about Stevie Wonder’s hairline or Bobbi Kristina’s dress and wig. But I will just leave those tweets to your imagination, and focus on Alicia Keys in this dress, oh and Swizz Beatz, too.

Black and white are the colors of choice for couples on the #BBMA red carpet. Monica and husband, Shannon Brown, hit the red carpet in black and white, along with Amber Rose and Wiz Khalifa, and Jason Derulo and Jordan Sparks. Speaking of Jordan Sparks…

I think she did a great job of honoring Whitney Houston by singing I Will Always Love You. Sure she is no Whitney Houston, but who is? People have undeliverable expectations when it comes to these awards show tributes, including myself. I have finally come to the realization that if the singer doesn’t fall off the stage or forget the words, then that’s the best we can hope to expect at a tribute. John Legend and Jordan Sparks didn’t fall off the stage and didn’t forget the words. So there you have it…I no longer have unrealistic expectations of these award shows tributes. Because every time I get my hopes up for an epic Whitney or Michael Jackson tribute, I am unfortunately left with, “Meh!“ and a shoulder shrug.

Brandy looks amazing in her dress. LMFAO clean up at the awards. Either you get LMFAO or you just don’t. Unfortunately I DO get them and I am a FAN. Chris Brown definitely gives us the visuals on stage shirtless with a fur coat in his mammy Tupac scarf and tail, BUT he received a lot of backlash from his peers for lip syncing. Singer Pink is his biggest critics, tweeting these words:

one day if I lipsync, I hope I do it as well as him…

Last but not least, I am touched when Bobbi Kristina accepts the Billboard Millennium Award on her mother’s behalf wearing a dress similar to one Whitney once wore, and all my other thoughts on the subject are left better yet unsaid. So I leave you with these words from Bobbi Kristina’s acceptance speech:

I just want to say thank you to everyone who’s supported us through it all. Not just from when it was good, but when it was bad, too. Just everything! Thank you so much for showing that much love, because she deserved it. She did. I’m just blessed to have been in such an incredible woman’s life. Whenever celebrities participate in makeup free or minimal makeup photoshoots, I get a little bit of happiness. I’m definitely NOT a makeup wearer (but on few special occasions) and never was a fan of how using it so much can make your true face seem so weird.  But xoJane got talk show host Wendy Williams to agree to do a makeunder shoot…and she looks pretty good!

It’s a lot different for someone who’s very being shouts abundance but she would pull this look more often.  It’s very relaxed and laid back.  Kind of makes me like her, if that make sense.  Even her tousled wig is kind of new for her but I think it looks great!  But you know Wendy had something to say about that:

Wendy typically wears wigs, but we decided to have her swap the bombshell waves for something less “done.” We were really pulling for something darker, black even, but Wendy wasn’t into it. “I don’t wear a dark wig,” she said matter-of-factly, which is when she broke out the,”You’re not going to play me like that.” Fair enough!

Good Lord! Looking at a young Tina Knowles is DEFINITELY like looking at a modern day Beyoncé!  Bey took some time to post this picture of her mother on her Tumblr yesterday for Mother’s Day and you can definitely see the resemblance.  There is no denying the genes.

Rihanna hits the red carpet at the LA premiere of Battleship in this Adam Selman’s white backless dress with thigh splits. Rumor has it that she co-designed the dress with Selman.  The dress is nice, but the singer admits to Access Hollywood that it’s not easy to wear:

I am a fan of Janelle Monae, but I always wanted to see her in a dress or anything outside of a tux. I understand the tuxedo is her thing, but it also hides her figure. Last night the NY Knicks won their first post season game against Miami Heat in this series, and they have the Keys-Beatz family to thanks. According to Swizz Beatz, every Knicks game he attends, the Knicks win. It’s true of last night, but if that’s really the case Swizz probably should attend every game here on out because Miami is leading the New York 3-to-1. I may get some flack for saying this but Rihanna‘s free spirit kind of nature is something that I like about her.  At times it can be a little much, maybe even over stepping her boundaries.  But there’s no denying that this chick likes to live her life as she sees fit, which is commendable.  And now, in the latest installment of RiRi’s Adventures, we get a glimpse of how she likes to relax: by going to the strip club.

Jada Pinkett-Smith posted an old school picture of Jada and Tupac on her Facebook page today, with a caption that read, “I miss him, J.” No doubt the hologram concert plus seeing Tupac’s name in the news stirred up some old memories. It’s hard when you need to talk to someone that know you best, but they’re no longer here.  Awwww  Jada…the world misses him too.

I didn’t realize how close the two of them were until I saw an interview with Jada Pinkett-Smith, and read this article on Concrete Loop back in 2006.  Tupac’s sister, Sekyiwa Shakur, explains that Jada and Tupac enjoyed the best of her mom, Ms. Afeni, and unfortunately she grew up with an absentee mother because Ms. Afeni was battling depression and a drug addiction. There wasn’t any shade thrown during the interview, it was just the reality of the situation while Sekyiwa was growing.  Sekyiwa Shakur and Ms. Afeni are much closer now. Check out what Sekyiwa says about Jada’s and Ms. Afeni Shakur’s relationship way back when:

I’ve always been the shadow in the corner. I’m actually the heart in my family. My mother is the backbone. ‘Pac is the catalyst. I’m the heart. I’m what keeps us together. She was telling Jada, when they were in high school, I just happen to be in the room listening to that.

This weekend, the Hollywood and sports world came together at the Tribeca Film Festival’s premiere and gala for the ESPN Films screening of the upcoming documentary, “Benji”.

The team-less,Lamar Odom took time to do what he loves best… walk the red carpet. He cried and complained that one of the things he would miss after being cut from the LA Lakers would be the red carpet events and movie premieres. He’d rather be out getting his picture taken instead of playing basketball for the team he was traded to, the Dallas Mavericks, so I hope he is happy now. He was Kardashian-less at the premiere-uh oh.

Anyways, the premiere and gala hosted a great mix of film industry professionals and athletes. One of the greatest actors of all-time Robert De Niro-who founded the Tribeca Film Festival to bring the film festival experience to New York after September 11th-showed his support by attending the premiere. Here he is with the documentary’s directors, Coodie and Chike.

Also in attendance was one of the fastest men in the world, two-time Olympic Gold Medalist, LaShawn Merritt of USA Track & Field who took a quick break from his Olympic training to attend Tribeca. Also, Super Bowl Champions Ahmad Bradshaw and Prince Amukamara of the New York Giants who showed support for the film.

If you are a fan of ESPN Films, you know they bring forth some of the most powerful sports stories ever. Benji goes back to 1984 when 17-year-old Ben Wilson was a symbol of everything promising about Chicago: a sweet-natured youngster from the city’s fabled South Side, and America’s top high school basketball prospect. Nicknamed “Magic Johnson with a jump shot,” Wilson’s natural talents and drive assured his best years were yet to come. Then, in November of his senior year, the career of this exceptional youngster was abruptly and tragically cut short. Ben’s grim fate sent ripples of horror through the city and the country.

Lauryn Hill hit the stage at Indigo O2 in London with freshly cut hair.  Before performing Lauryn Hill lets the crowd know that the old Lauryn Hill is back. The new Lauryn Hill received some bad reviews due to her excessive tardiness, erratic and eccentric behavior, and unnecessary remixes to the great Lauryn Hill classics:

Reportedly, the concert in London is one of Lauryn Hill’s best performances in a over a decade.

The thing I like about Rihanna is that she is a fan of music, and it shows. Rihanna attended the 2012 Coachella Music Festival which included a surprise performance from the singer.
