Judge Praises Chris Brown; National Enquirer: Rihanna Hates Chris

Every time it seems like the drama is coming to an end, the news brings it back to the forefront. Singer R&B Chris Brown appeared in court yesterday, and the judge was proud of the progress he’s made. I don’t know if he’s genuinely remorseful, or if he just knows we’re all watching, but most abusers are not so willing to do the time because they don’t feel they’re guilty. Most abusers have every excuse in the word, and for Chris Brown to take full responsibility without justifying his actions (not that they he could anyway), isn’t something that should go unnoticed. I hope the classes work, and I hope he’s not putting on a front to win back favor or fans.

LOS ANGELES – Chris Brown won praise from a judge Thursday for keeping up with the terms of his punishment for beating Rihanna. “Excellent,” L.A. County Superior Court Judge Patricia Schnegg said when informed by Brown’s lawyer Mark Geragos that the “Kiss Kiss” singer has completed 100 hours of his lengthy community labor requirement.

“It’s an extremely favorable progress report,” Schnegg said, referring to Brown’s formal probation update. She said Brown has attended seven of his 52 mandatory domestic violence counseling sessions, paid all his court fines and given a sample of his DNA.

She ordered Brown back for another status report Feb. 18. [Source]

The National Enquirer is reporting that a “friend” of Rihanna claims Rihanna “despises” Chris Brown, and that Chris Brown has been sending her e-mails up until October trying to win her back…Click “continue reading” for the juicy details.

The 21-year-old singer cannot bear to discuss her relationship with Chris with those close to her, and is still struggling to come to terms with the violent assault he inflicted on her in February. Chris was sentenced to five years probation, six months community labour, 52 weeks of domestic violence classes and ordered to stay away from her for five years following the altercation.

The source told National Enquirer magazine: “Behind the scenes the truth is Rihanna despises Chris – so much so that if someone mentions him in passing she’ll say, ‘Please don’t talk about him.’

“She absolutely did the right thing by being classy in the interview, rather than coming off as vindictive. But I’ve even heard her curse Chris out for what he did to her. She did love him deeply, but in reality those feelings have died away.”

The source explained: “Up until October, Chris was stills ending her emails saying they should go out together for dinner or drinks. Rihanna finally got to the point where she threatened to go to the judge if he kept on bothering her. He’s stopped since then.” [Source]

Oprah is stepping down from her syndicated talk show in 2011, just to move to her own network with a different format. This has been on the news non-stop, as if the world is coming to an end. Oprah has been doing this talk show for 25 years, so I imagine she’s just tired. I’m happy Oprah has decided to move on and do something different, I’m sure she has more goals to complete other than talk show host.

Oprah Winfrey, the reigning monarch of daytime chat and occasional champion of presidents and authors, is to announce on her television show today that after nearly a quarter of a century of syndication success she is preparing to quit her show for good the year after next.

It is a measure of Ms Winfrey’s importance on the cultural landscape of America, that a 22-month lead time to her shuttering the show seems an appropriate amount of warning to her fans and advertisers. “The sun will set on the Oprah show as its 25th season draws to a close on September 9, 2011,” the New York affiliate of the ABC Network said on its bulletins last night. The father of the young boy who accused Michael Jackson of molestation was found dead, an apparent suicide with self-inflicted gun wound. Evan Chandler, the father of Jordan Chandler, settle out of court for large sum of money, and left a stain on Michael Jackson’s career.

According to MTV, the Evan Chandler, the father suffered from a mental condition (which explains why he would let a grown man sleep in the same bed as his child):

Evan Chandler, 65, the father of a young boy who alleged that he was molested by Michael Jackson in 1994, was found dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound in his luxury apartment in New Jersey earlier this month.

RadarOnline.com reported that Chandler’s body was found on November 5 by the concierge at his apartment building.

“There was no note found in the apartment, but officers did find medication in keeping with a serious medical condition,” a Jersey City police spokesperson told the site. Police said Chandler was found dead on his bed with a single gunshot wound to his head and a gun in his hand in what they believe was suicide. Police were sent to check on the gravely ill Chandler after he’d missed a doctor’s appointment.

Rihanna was spotted at St. Pancras International Train Station in London sans makeup, and rocking her shades. I’m not sure why so many people are mad at Rihanna, not sure how getting beat makes you a bad person, but if you read the comments on twitter, you would swear she was a terrorist. (Just because you don’t believe her side of the story doesn’t mean she wasn’t assaulted).

If you weren’t on twitter today, then you missed the leak of Rihanna’s entire album. I would post the link, but I’m not trying to get shut down.

Also, 50 Cent Launches “Power” Fragrance at Macy’s in the Lakewood Mall in Lakewood, CA. Anyone interested in the cologne? I’m scared my husband will start acting like 50 Cent. I am having fun with his new Bill Bixby look, I feel like the Hulk will bust out any moment now…J/K

Judge To Gucci Mane Go Straight To Jail For 12 Months

I don’t know what Gucci Mane has done, all I know is that it violated his probation, and the kind judge sentenced him to 12 months in jail because of his actions. Poor Gucci Mane, he’s on every track like Lil Wayne was last year, and now he and Lil Wayne will be serving time. I wonder what the violation was, obviously this story will continued as more information comes in. But for now, MTV reports that Gucci Mane is going to jail for probation violation:

Gucci Mane was sentenced to 12 months in jail on Thursday (November 12) for probation violation and taken away in handcuffs, according to his lawyer.Mane pleaded guilty to assault in 2005 for attacking a nightclub promoter, and last September, he was sentenced to a year in jail for failing to fulfill his court-ordered 600 hours of community service in that case. He went to jail and served until March. Upon his release, Gucci went straight to the studio and recorded five songs.

The sentence is a blow to Gucci’s career. The ATL rapper has an album coming out — The State vs. Radric Davis — on December 8 and is arguably at the height of his career; in terms of his sentence, he may be out of jail in six months.

Barack Obama Ft. Hood Memorial Photos & Speech

President Barack Obama gave a moving speech yesterday at the Ft. Hood Memorial here in Texas. The sad thing is that “some” people are using this event as political referendum on the President. Just for this one moment, people should keep their partisan mouths closed, and just honor those who have fallen– out of respect.

Politics can resume tomorrow, but do not over analyze President Obama’s speech looking for a Muslim connection, and do not start conspiracy theories about Obama’s secret cells. Today is Veteran’s Day and both liberals and conservatives risk their lives for this country, along with people from various ethnic and racial backgrounds, as well as religions. So just for one day, show that you’re a patriot first, and a partisan second. God Bless America!

I knw you have seen the pictures of Sammy Sosa, and all I can do is SMH! Bloggers have the reputation for being mean, but let me explain why. We are opinionated people that you know in your everyday lives, and our platform to express ourselves are our blogs. We say what many people are thinking, and right now I’m thinking, not another Michael Jackson. I mean seriously if Sammy was going to bleach his skin he could have at least done it gradually one shade at a time. But he went from dark to Brad Pitt, in the blink of eye. Bloggers are tired of the “bs” that is celebrity, that’s why we’re so mean. How can you see something like this, and not say word, or have an opinion?

I know I’m late, but I just could not give up the opportunity to express my concern. To read more and to hear what other bloggers have to say check out my girl Miss Jia.

In a recent interview with Spanish TV Univision, Sosa explains that he was not trying to look white, or follow in Michael Jackson’s footsteps: (Really!?!)

The ex-Cubs slugger said a European skin cream he uses at bedtime combined with a strong camera flash caused his face to appear ghost white in a recent headline-grabbing photo from Las Vegas — and he “respected” Michael Jackson too much to try to match his appearance.

I’m doing well, doing well, thanks to God. A little surprised by the tsunami of attention,” Sosa told a reporter for Spanish TV network Univision, the New York Daily News reports.

“I use a cream to keep my skin smooth and soft,” he said without naming the product. “I apply it before I go to bed. When I was playing for Chicago all those years, I was in the sun a lot for one o’clock games.”

Sosa said he’s such a fan of the mystery cream, in fact, that he’s in negotiations with its maker to go to bat as a company pitchman. [Source]

When Sosa’s ghostly photo from the Latin Grammys first appeared, speculation centered on whether his lighter appearance was the result of vitiligo, a skin-whitening condition that Michael Jackson said he suffered from.

Sosa denied he was trying to emulate the late King of Pop.

“Not at all, I respect him very much,” he said. “I’m not a racist. I’m not like that. I’m just a happy person.”

I don’t feel well today, but I had to get up just make this post. Kat Williams was arrested in Georgia for breaking in a home. Only two things would make a person behave the way Kat Williams has been lately, he’s either of his meds or on the pipe. According to AP:

ATLANTA — Comedian and rapper Katt Williams remained jailed in suburban Atlanta on Monday after police said they arrested the entertainer for breaking into a home.

Williams, who police say is 38, is charged with burglary and criminal trespassing, according to Coweta County Sheriff’s Office Major James Yarbrough.

A deputy at the Coweta County Jail confirmed Williams was being held there and that a magistrate was expected to set bond at an arraignment Monday afternoon.

Yarbrough said the Sunday night incident happened at a home in Newnan, about 38 miles southwest of Atlanta. Yarbrough said the unidentified homeowner called police around 9 p.m. to report the comedian “gained entry by breaking into the home, and items were taken from the residence.”

Yarbrough said jewelry was taken, but did not have further details.

Williams, whose real name is Micah S. Katt Williams, is known for his roles in the movies “Friday After Next” and “Norbit.” His comedy DVD, “Katt Williams: Pimpadelic,” was no. 8 in the nation for sales during the week of Oct. 30, according to Nielsen/VideoScan.

But lately the entertainer has gained as much attention for criminal troubles as for his quips.

He was briefly jailed last November after New York police who pull him over for driving without a license plate discovered three guns. Manhattan prosecutors dropped weapons charges in July after running into problems proving their case.

The shooting guard said Khloe and sister Kourtney, who claimed he cheated on Khloe, “made the whole thing up.” McCants said a “Kourtney and Khloe Take Miami” episode — where they were seen hacking into McCants’ voice mail and listening to suggestive phone messages apparently left for him by a female fan — was staged. He said the curvy sisters did not have his current phone number and he and Khloe “had already called it quits” in January, before the segment was even taped. Meanwhile, Khloe wasted no time finding herself another NBA star to play ball — she wed the LA Lakers’ Lamar Odom in September, after a monthlong romance. Russell Simmons Talks About The “Bill Cosby Attitude”

I was reading an article on Global Grind where Russell Simmons calls Bill Cosby intolerant because of his views of the black community and its failing systems of education and its lack of parenting. I just have to disagree with Uncle Russell here, because both him and Bill Cosby are right. There isn’t a one-step solution system to the problems that hurt blacks in this country, it’s a multilateral approach and first and far most it starts at home. We have to teach people how to parent, and we have to commit our lives to parenting our children. A good parent can do so much more for a child than any government welfare program can. However we have a lost generation of children who were force to raise themselves because their parents gave up and gave into the streets, the crack, the welfare system. (That doesn’t mean welfare is wrong, that just means everyone that’s on welfare don’t necessarily need welfare).

What they don’t understand is that the young people who they criticize did not create their own realities. They did not create the crumbling education system that we school them in. They did not create the drug epidemic and drug wars that have resulted in a dysfunctional family structure. They did not create the health care crisis that does not treat them. They did not create the culture of violence that they fall victim to.

When the President brought the Cosby attitude to his NAACP speech a few months ago, I was disappointed. It is nice to tell black people to stand up, but isn’t that really Min. Farrakhan’s job? The President’s job is to tell them to walk to the program that he placed on their corner. It is our job to instill the inspiration that gets a young person to walk into the program and not stand on the corner.

Old people are quicker to destroy the planet, abuse the animals and promote wars and then act like young people are violent. Young people are more compassionate, giving, promote gay rights, animal rights, human rights, protect the environment and want to end the wars. When they point out the contradictions that come up and say it on a record and say it LOUD, you can’t believe it!

Too often people like Russell Simmons criticize people like Bill Cosby and Barack Obama because they don’t buy into the single system solution; they know that personal accountability and choices have a large part in shaping the way people behave. I need Russell Simmons to stop making excuses for what people can’t do, and stop putting limitations on people because they are victimized. You can have a crack head mother and still be a doctor. There is no system that can benefit you better than hard work, and that starts with the parents.

Lastly, Russell Simmons is right. Those that have made it need to help others across. Go back and support a child who may not have that parent. Go back and donate money to a community center that helped you. Lobby the government for funding to school districts. Put on a free concert to buy books and computers for school. But, what ever you do, don’t knock another man [Bill Cosby] for his approach. It isn’t a choice of either or, but of all the above.

Work together, and shut it up! Who cares if Bill Cosby don’t like rap, stop defending why he shouldl like it, and start working with him to end the problems that create a need for children to use rap as an avenue out of poverty. Defending an art form of a younger generation to an older generation is a waste of breath; there was once a time when “gospel” and “the blues” were considered evil. The problem isn’t the music, the problem is the community and the music is just a reflection of that life. What we need is a national “Get Your Ass Up & Do Something Day”…Similar Posts:

Good Morning America: Thursday 7AM ET; 20/20 Friday Night 10PM ET

The headline says “Now For the Very First Time Rihanna Tells Her Story.” You have to read the tag lines carefully, it says Rihanna will tell “her” story and not “her side” of the story. What does that mean; that could mean anything. Not once did it say Rihanna will talk about that awful night with ex-boyfriend Chris Brown. I am definitely going to watch just to see what she will say, but I have to tell you I have a “suspect” feeling, that this is more of an interview about her music career, and not about her “private” life.

We will all tune in, only to find out that legally due to the plea deal Rihanna is not allowed to discuss the merits of the case. Something also tells me that she will admit that she still has feelings for Chris Brown, and that the night of the assualt changed her and shaped her new album. Teyana Taylor is a ride or die chick for Chris Brown. When all of the so-called friends of Chris Brown turned their backs the moment Chris Brown fell of his pedestal (more like beat his ex-girlfriend); instead of having his back, his so called “friends” bailed on him, and kicked the poor brother while he was down. Here’s what Teyana Taylor told Vibe:

A lot of people were jumping on different bandwagons and I really felt like that was wack. Before the incident between him and Rihanna, Chris had always been my brother. When we met we clicked instantly from our fashion styles to our love of basketball to dancing to everything. Tameka and Usher divorce is final, at least that what’s the court says, but Tameka Foster says she and Usher are still married. I don’t know if you watch Desperate Housewives (no not Real Housewives of Atlanta) but Tameka is acting like Katherine right now, thinking she’s going to get Mike (Usher) back from Susan (Deaf Jam Mistress).

According to court documents obtained by TMZ, the “papers” say marriage “disposed”. Meaning marriage dissolved, meaning “legally” Tameka and Usher are divorced, even if “mentally” Tameka says their still together.

However, Tameka may have truth on her side. In her defense, the divorce papers are marked wrong, and Tameka and Usher are still technically “married” according to the lawyer.

Answer: NOT DIVORCED

Calling on my girl Miss Jia, we need another Maia Campbell-style intervention because Lindsay Lohan is gone. Normally we focus on women of color, but I think we need to adopt Lindsay Lohan into our community, because the girl is truly lost. I just did a post on how ageless Halle Berry appears, only to some across these photos of Lindsay Lohan in court. I mean she just turned 23 in July, and in these pictures she looks older than Liz Taylor. Are we sure it’s just alcohol and stress, because honestly, she may be one line away from a pipe. I’m not trying to be mean, but someone needs to help her instead of riding the gravy train of her past success. It’s sad when parents are more interested in being their child’s friends that they allow this to happen just to avoid being cut off.

The night before his Sept. 5 wedding, all of Hannibal Jackson’s groomsmen went out on the town. Jackson returned instead to his hotel room, opened his Bible, and bowed his head.

Prayer brought him to this juncture, Jackson believed, so it would be prayer that ushered him through his last night of single life.

In telling the story of how he came to marry Kellie Williams, the actress who played Laura Winslow in the ’90s sitcom “Family Matters,” Jackson, 33, starts in October 2001. One Sunday he asked to accompany a co-worker named Rob Brown to church — “and that,” he says, “was the day I accepted Jesus Christ as my savior.” [Source]

For years Jackson and Williams had been listening — separately — to Rob Brown and another mutual friend talk about setting them up. The chatter had “gone in one ear and out the other,” Williams recalls, until an actual meeting was arranged at a party in August 2007.

During one such conversation, Williams told Jackson where she stood: “I said, ‘You’re either my boyfriend, or this is the last time we’re going to talk.’ ” That proclamation came exactly two weeks after they met. “All my friends said the same thing — ‘I can’t believe you said that!’ ” she admits. “But I don’t have time to be playing games with people.”

After her car broke down and Williams found herself calling Jackson for help, rather than her father, she realized the man she affectionately calls “a square” had already rooted himself in her heart. “I thought about life as a whole and thought, ‘What a great person to go along this journey with,’ ” she says. “I thought, ‘I wouldn’t want to miss this.’ “

When he proposed after 10 months of dating, she said yes. “Because it’s a miracle,” she explains. “It’s not a fairy tale. It’s a real guy who’s just a great guy.”

Busta Rhymes to pay $75,000 to assault victim. This may actually be good news for Busta Rhymes, considering the victim and his lawyer were seeking $500,000 in damages due to psychological after effects. To top it all off, Busta Rhymes lawyer didn’t even bother to show to for the trial or hearing.

A Brooklyn hearing officer yesterday ordered rap star Busta Rhymes to fork over $75,000 to an Albany man who was doused with water, pummeled with bottles and sucker-punched by the hip-hop star and a bodyguard.

The injured man, Alex Duncan, testified that he suffered nightmares and psychological after-effects of the Sept. 13, 2003, attack during a break in a rap concert at SUNY Albany.

“It’s all right,” Duncan, 32, a recently laid-off school groundskeeper, said of the award.

“I wanted something to come out of it. I don’t even go to parties anymore, because there’s always someone asking, ‘What happened to that Busta Rhymes case?’ ”

Duncan’s lawyer, Ronald Hart, had requested $500,000 of the hearing officer, Luigi Marano.

Rhymes’ lawyer, Robert Kalina, was a no-show for both the trial and yesterday’s damages hearing. He did not return a call seeking comment. [Source]

Hill Harper was in Dallas this past week-end to promote his new book, The Conversation, and MrsGrapevine.com was on the scene. The room was packed with both men and women, and in fact I think I saw way more men than women, and that’s rare. I guess the men figured if the subject was about relationships and Hill Harper then there should be plenty of women.

Lisa Raye has been the subject of many rumors lately, and the strangest one is that she’s been chopping it up with Al Sharpton of all people. Now, Lisa Ray McCoy is back with a reality series in the works, and she’s putting former BFFs Vivica A Fox and Star Jones on blast. It doesn’t stop there, Rocsi of 106 & Park is a target for sleeping with Lisa Raye’s ex-husband while they were still married, and former cast mate Duane Martin is accused of providing Lisa’s ex- husband with a mistress in exchange for a business deal…

After Lisa’s divorce from Prime Minister Michael Misick of Turks & Caicos, Lisa Raye’s so called “friends” turned their backs on her, by supporting her ex-husband Misick:

First up is former “View” co-host Jones, who raised McCoy’s ire by supposedly supporting Misick after the divorce. “LisaRaye hosted Star at her home in the Turks & Caicos for three weeks when Star was going through her divorce from Al Reynolds,” says a source close to the TV One series. “When the tables turned and McCoy’s marriage ended, Star was helping LisaRaye’s husband.”

That allegedly included counseling Misick and even recommending her personal damage-control publicist to aid him during the messy split…

That’s not all former best friend Vivica A Fox has her share of wrath coming, as well:

McCoy says she was also double-crossed by former best friend Fox, who allegedly shared McCoy’s most intimate secrets with Misick. “LisaRaye hasn’t spoken to Vivica since,” said the source.

The list just goes on. Duane Martin & Rocsi will be getting some of the action, too:

The list doesn’t stop there – in fact, it gets worse. McCoy also counts “106 & Park” host Rosci as an enemy, accusing the BET star of having an illicit affair with Misick. Even McCoy’s former TV hubby on “All of Us” has fallen out of favor – McCoy claims actor Duane Martin rovided a mistress for her then-husband in an effort to do business on Turks & Caicos.
