Though you may not know her name (just yet) Antonique Smith is making waves in the R&B and Soul world and staking her claim with a sizzling new single. Summer is a time when many artists look to release new music, often with a summertime feel, something that thumps, with a memorable hook and a feel-good vibe. You most likely recognize Smith from her celebrated role playing Faith Evans in the biopic Notorious or from her roles in Rent or Across the Universe. Antonique has put all her divalicious focus on her music career and the results are crazy good! From it’s throwback vibe to the live horns, to the sassy delivery this is one to add to your summer playlist.

Everyone can relax and breath. Christina Milian is not dating Lil Wayne. The singer cleared up rumors of her dating the rapper a few days ago.
“We make music together,” explained the singer to media. “It’s work. I’m finally around my record label and I have the opportunity to make music.”
If you ask me, it sounds like Beyonce is cooking up something new. Recently Queen Bey posted a video to her official Instagram account letting everyone know that the official movie trailer for the highly anticipated film Fifty Shades of Grey is coming this Thursday. However, what has everyone talking is the music that plays in the background of the 15 second clip. With Beyonce posting the video, we can only hope that she’ll appear of the films soundtrack. If you listen clearly it sounds like a slowed down version of “Crazy In Love”, and that song is definitely fitting for the film.

Recently it was announced that Deborah Cox will be the voice singing Whitney Houston’s music in the new Lifetime biopic, which is expected to premier next year. Fans were already questionable when Yaya DaCosta was tapped to play Whitney, and they became even more cautious once they learned they will not be able to hear Whitney’s voice. TMZ was able to get a hold of a recording of what sounds like Deborah Cox’s version of “I Will Always Love You”. It hasn’t been confirmed if this is actually the version to be used in the film, but if so having Deborah sing the music for the film may have not been a bad idea after all.

Faith Evans has a new single and record deal. The R&B diva recently joined forces with BMG Chrysalis U.S., and released her new single I Deserve It shortly thereafter. The hit single that features Missy Elliott will be on Evans’ eight studio album, which will be her first in four years.
“I am truly proud to join the forces of my imprint, Prolific Music Group, with BMG to present my next project, Incomparable,” says Faith of her new partnership. “I look forward to a great partnership, as we are all very excited about this amazing collection of timeless R&B music.”
Shad Moss has changed his name and is ready to settle down. The rap star recently told Sister 2 Sister magazine that he has a girlfriend with whom he may build a luxurious life someday.
“The girlfriend slot? That’s filled now,” said Shad. “I got that, so now it’s just about focusing on the task at hand, and that’s $125 million. I need $125 million and I write that on every mirror in my house and that’s all I’m focused on right now.”
