Artist for Peace “Never Again” Concert took place Monday Night in Universal City, CA to honor Stevie Wonder and peace efforts against genocide.  It was the Lost & Found event of the year. Bobby Brown made an appearance, along with Eric Benet, Pras, Wayne Brady, and Tommy Davidson. Seriously where have all of these people been? Chaka Khan serenaded her good friend Stevie Wonder. Many of you may not know this, I really didn’t either (I’m not that old), but before their was a Beyonce, Chaka Khan held the title of the voice with the body.  As you can see below in her leopard boots and bodysuit, Ms Chaka Khan is holding on to that title.

Actually in her younger years, Chaka Khan and Nicki Minaj resemblance is quite striking. It’s almost eerie. I would like to see Nicki Minja remake this photo in Ebony Icons.

Anyway, back to the topic. Stevie Wonder is holding on to his braids, but I don’t know how much longer the braids can hold on, his iconic look is fading fast. Aretha Franklin is really advocating that Halle Berry plays the Queen of Soul in her upcoming biopic. Halle Berry in as kind of manner as possible, explained that she didn’t see how that would work considering she could not sing. But, we all know what Halle Berry was really trying to say.  Basically, it would be a stretch for Halle Berry to play Aretha Franklin, and the movie actually seem believable and not pure fiction or fantasy.

I would have liked Halle Berry to portray an older Aretha in my upcoming biopic…She was my first choice, everything subject to negotiations, and she shouldn’t underestimate her own talent. There are a number of other leading ladies out there, that can definitely handle the role. I never expected Halle to sing, she’s an actress, not a singer. Many actress have portrayed vocalist by lypsynching to the artist original recordings.

My question is: Why is Aretha Franklin trying to be Halle Berry? Something is strange here. I would think you would want the best actress for the job, and one that happens to sing, but to each his own. Watch as Wendy Williams suggest other actresses, like Jennifer Hudson or Queen Latifah.

After all the drama from 2010 with Swizz Beatz’ and his relationships, I am so glad the year is over. 2011 will be a new year with less drama, and to prove it, Swizz Beatz is seen here holding his daughter Nicole that he shares with UK producer Jahna Sebastian.  This picture almost brought a tear to my eye. I do believe people can change for the better, so let’s give Swizz Beatz a fair chance and see how it plays out. The only girl in the bunch, she surely will be spoiled…

Jasmine Sanders, Chris Brown’s current girlfriend, walked down the runway this weekend at the Mercedes-BenzFashion Week Swim .  Sanders walked in the True Religion and Ed Hardy Show. I was taking a look at her fashion pics and noticed the tattoo on her side. Then I also found a photo of Sanders showing off a tattoo on her side that looked awfully familiar.  Rihanna showed off a similar side tattoo several years ago. What do you think? Copycat or coincidence?

Just when everyone is asking where is Kanye West, he appears with his girlfriend Amber Rose. Are they dressed a like? How cute is that? I guess matching clothes and similar kicks means they are together, at least it does in PR terms. In all honestly, I think they have been on the low so that they can get their privacy back. Kanye West was having a hard time with the paparazzi all in his grill and all in his girl’s grill.

Check out this video of Whitney’s comeback performance in Central Park today for Good Morning America. Whitney sounds pretty good, except for a few high notes missed, but don’t worry she has a great excuse:

Whitney Houston missed the high notes in her first public performance in years today in Central Park.

The singer blamed her cracked voice on a taping she did Monday for ‘Oprah.’ “When I’m talking, I should be singing,” she told the audience. Her four-song set will air Wednesday in the 8 a.m. hour on ‘Good Morning America.’ [Source]

Whitney Houston graces the cover of the new issue of Ebony magazine just in time for the release of her album out in stores today, Sept. 1st!

It’s great to see Whitney back in the limeligth now if only she can go on a promotional tour so we can see some performances of her current records and even her old ones.

Very unlikely for an album to come out with out much promotional tours, performances etc. I guess if you’re Whitney Houston you can do that and still sell a lot of records.

I just got two e-mails asking me if “Black” from Flavor of Love is the video vixen in Lil Wayne’s video Mrs. Officer. I thought those were very random questions, until I saw the pictures of Lil Wayne court side with the real video girl at Necole Bitchie, and now I understand the questions. Well, I’m sorry to say that Candace “Black” Cabrera of Flavor of Love is not the girl in the video.

So who is the girl with Lil Wayne at the NBA finals, that is also featured in the video? According to Necole Bitchie, her name is Tammy Torres. She and Candace Cabreara do resemble from a distance.  Actually it’s hard to tell them apart from most angles, especially the back angle, but Candace is the one with the tattoos. Let me just say it was hard finding a photo of their face.

Anyway, I will let you guess who’s who from the hints, but here is the real Tammy Torres at the NBA finals with Lil Wayne.

According to People Magazine:

When Chris Brown arrived at Game 5 of the NBA Finals in Orlando on Sunday night, fans were shocked to see him arrive with a woman who looked very much like Brown’s on-again, off-again flame Rihanna. Wearing dark sunglasses, the woman sat two seats away from Brown, and often leaned forward to talk to him.
During halftime, a crowd formed around Brown and the woman. A teenage fan got past the bodyguards and took pictures with the couple. “I called her Rihanna and she didn’t contradict me,” says the fan. “She had a faint accent, so I’m pretty sure it’s her.”

This is just a case of “all black people look a like” because no other minority based media thought Chris Brown was trying to play games by bringing a “Rihanna” look a like to the game. Either the mainstream media was trying to create a story where there wasn’t one, or they think brown is brown. It’s obvious to us that the girl in the picture is Teyana Taylor, who has her own style, and is known for having her own style from the jump. SMH! at the faux outrage that Chris Brown is playing games, no TMZ and People Magazine are playing games…

I’m so sick of the drama that’s been going down lately. I know you like the drama, but spoiled stars can wear a blogger out.
