So Jaden Smith wants to be emancipated from his parents at 15. The parents who already give him freedom over his life with no punishment when he misbehaves, because they don’t believe in punishment. Yet, with all of that freedom, Jaden wants even more.
Will explains that Jaden, who will be celebrating his 15th birthday in July and is close pals with 19-year-old Justin Bieber, asked for a very unique gift. “He says, ‘Dad, I want to be emancipated.’ I know if we do this, he can be an emancipated minor, because he really wants to have his own place, like ‘Ooh,’” Will explained. {via Miss Jia}
I have a suggestion, maybe they should emancipate him and drop him off in Baltimore with little money and let him survive the streets like Jada Pinkett. That would be a great gift! But I guess that would be considered punishment in their book. Will explains that he and Jada are more of the questioning type of parents:
