There has to be another way to sell this album other than giving Kanye West interviews. I heard her new single Loaded is actually kind of good. BTW, Wiz Khalifa is still the love of Amber’s life, and he is very secure in loving her:

I was scared, because he’s four years younger than me, and he’s in the same industry as Kanye and I was so over all that,” said Amber. “All odds were against him, but I couldn’t fight the feeling. Wiz is the better man.

In almost every interview, each cast member said Mona intentionally took things out of context to edit the narrative for ratings, and against their best wishes put the cast-members in hostile environment to provoke a fight. The only person that didn’t have a problem with the editing was Yandy. O_0 How convenient!!! Considering Yandy was at the center of every fight, and the only cast member that was buddy-buddy with Mona on screen.

One scene that almost broke my heart was Erica Mena’s break-down during her exit interview with Mona. Obviously if you go on a show like Love & Hip-Hop you’re on your last leg as far as career options, and you just need a boost to your career. Well Erica Mena broke down in tears because she felt like she wasn’t accurately portrayed. Although you can’t make a woman do anything she doesn’t want to do on camera, you can manipulate the story line so that her character is one dimensional. All I am saying is that Mona, if she cared about these women in any manner, could have made these stories more balanced and featured the good and the bad, and not just the evil. Mona intentionally left out the good stories in the lives of these women as she accidentally revealed while interviewing Somaya, and focused mostly on the things that were negative.  Mona, also had the nerve to tell Erica Mena that she could learn a lesson from this experience, and become a better person. Now, go make my money!!!

The only thing that scene above proved to me is that this mess was a set-up, and that the producers could have prevented the fight. It also proved that Erica’s role was to start drama. I can’t believe Mona said off camera, I thought you were going to introduce her first, not just jump in, let’s reset. How could Mona think that if the show wasn’t scripted ?

From abusive men to abusive women. At least Shaunie tries to balance the lives of the women on her show. But hey, I hope Mona gets nominated for the Pimp of the Year award at the 2012 Players’ Ball. Sadly, Love & Hip-Hop Hotlanta is coming soon!

Over the last couple of years, it’s been a strong propaganda movement that has been brewing, like, in the negative sense, against Bad Boy…against, like, what it is to sign to the Bad Boy label and like is it a detriment to your career…it’s regular hate and also a lot of people also not understanding how this industry works. This is a hard industry, this is not for kids, this is not for the weak…if you’re weak, you’ll get eaten alive.

Hmmm…well, I don’t know about you, but I feel some kind of way about this.The general public isn’t in the entertainment industry, that’s true.  But I think as a music consumer, and not really a rookie to how artists are brought to our attention and supported by record labels, there’s a clear distinction between Bad Boy Records‘ history and the history of other record labels.  I personally hear about people getting signed by Diddy…but then that’s it.  Remember Ness from the very first season of Making The Band? Diddy called him the next Biggie at one point. I haven’t heard from homeboy since. Hell, all of them have pretty much been unheard of since then.  But, maybe Diddy is right. Maybe they’re all victims to the industry. But you tell me:  Is Diddy correct?  Is Bad Boy just getting a bad rap?  Or is Bad Boy Records actually the musical no man’s land? VV: Let’s talk about your style. Before when we spoke, you mentioned that some of the pieces from Girlfriends would find their way into Carla’s wardrobe. What’s the inspiration? Do you work with designers or find things out and about?

Ross: It’s stuff that’s been found out and about. The way I went about Joan and Carla is I always ask myself who this woman is. Every once in a while people say Carla is so much like Joan, and I’m like, ‘People, Tracee plays both people.’ So what you’re seeing that’s the same between Carla and Joan is not Carla being like Joan, but it’s Tracee. Tracee was Joan and Tracee is Carla. It’s so funny people don’t understand that, it makes me laugh.

VV: Do you think The Cosby Show comparisons set the audience expectations too high?
Ross: I don’t know. For some people, it’s a great context to know what the show might be, and for some people, it makes it hard because you’re comparing it to something that you have such a clear idea of. BET seems to be promoting it as the new Cosby, which I don’t think it helpful, and I don’t think makes sense.

The way Malcolm [Jamal Warner] and I have been describing it is that we are in no way, shape or form trying to be a new Cosby Show. What we are doing is taking the recipe of what Cosby did, which was a family show that was timeless and good, and use those elements.

I can’t get invested in whether it hurts the show or not. The beauty of being on BET in this day and age is that on other network they do two episodes and they pull a show from television. Sometimes that’s the greatest thing, and sometimes it just never had a chance to grow. With BET, we did 25 episodes and we’re getting a chance. It’s really wonderful working with a network that wants your show and is behind your show. The audience asked for this kind of show, BET listened and they went out and have gotten behind our show. On other networks, I don’t know if that always happens.

Last week Tom Joyner discussed the story on air with co-host Sybil Wilkes and comedian J. Anthony Brown. And who was listening?  None other than Gayle herself.

While the “TJMS” crew was joking about the situation and, unbeknownst to them, repeating falsehoods, King told them she “almost fell off my treadmill listening to you all this morning. J. Anthony Brown has been drinking a big ol’ glass of haterade!”

But it is worth watching to see Beyonce’s reaction when Katie Couric touches her baby bump. For the record, I DID NOT like random people touching my baby bump either. That was so weird to me, random people rubbing my belly like I was a magical genie and something was going to pop out…People who like to rub random bumps are strange…really really strange!

Remember when actor/comedian Tracy Morgan went under fire for alleged homophobic slurs at a Nashville comedy show?  Here’s his thoughts on that:

Man, I will say this, the funniest joke I ever heard Tracy say during a stand-up was, ‘C’mon man, I think gay people are too sensitive. If you can take a dick, you can take a joke.’ [Cracks up laughing.] That shit was funny to me. And it’s kind of true.’ While T.I. makes clear that he supports anyone’s sexual preference, he then connects, in his opinion, a current oversensitivity among gay people with a consequential and ironic offense of the First Amendment. “They’re like,‘If you have an opinion against us, we’re gonna shut you down.’ … That’s not American. If you’re gay you should have the right to be gay in peace, and if you’re against it you should have the right to be against it in peace.’

Hmm. I kind of think he simplified gay/lesbian rights with that last example but I’m sure his heart was in the right place.  T.I. also had shared his thoughts on Osama Bin Laden‘s death…or alleged death, rather…*side eye* Check out his skeptic thoughts on the situation, after the jump…

The conversation shifts from Muammar Gaddafi’s death—which occurred five days prior—to Osama Bin Laden’s assassination to both Eastern giant’s once empowered relationship with the U.S. government. “It’s like everybody that the U.S. was besties with, years later they’re the worst person in the world,” says Tip. “My question is what character traits do they possess now that they didn’t possess when y’all were besties? What made it go astray, and who’s to say they were on the dishonest end of that?”

The politic’n doesn’t stop there. Before an article can be selected from the “Osama Bin Laden killed” search, T.I. twists his lips in sarcastic fashion and shoots, “If that really happened.”

VIBE:  So you’re skeptical about the legitimacy of Osama’s death?

T.I.: Man, I’m a conspiracy theorist by nature. You can’t experience the federal penal system and not be somewhat skeptical.

Wow! Paula talks about her marriage with Robin, noting that the key that makes it work is “desire”:

There’s no recipe. There’s no other way to say it—it’s true desire. We’re crazy enough that we just keep wanting to be together. We just don’t not want to be with each other. [Laughs] It doesn’t mean that we don’t have our ups and downs. We just don’t want to be with anyone else. That’s how we keep it together: desire.

Paula also discusses her role in the upcoming Mission Impossible movie, along side Tom Cruise.

Making Mission: Impossible was a dream come true. It challenged me as an actor because it’s so technical. Any time you’re challenged you get better. I learned so much from working with Tom Cruise—it was remarkable. Also, I got to do my own stunts, and that felt more freeing than anything I’ve ever done. To be able to be that physical was exciting.

Fat Joe says that all his life, all he’d really known was being over weight.  He’s had diabetes since he was 14 years old. Food was love and the fame gave him greater access to enjoying all of life’s culinary treats.  But it was what happened in 2010 that really changed this for him:

Last year alone, I had six friends die of heart attacks. Most of them were younger than me, but they were my same size. So I had one friend who was funnier than me. He was cooler than me. Obviously God loved him and he still died. I couldn’t believe that he died of a heart attack at 32/33 years old. He has a daughter my same age. And it was the weirdest thing. I went to his funeral. Not only was I sad, but I was just like, “This is me.” I couldn’t see a clearer picture of what’s the difference between me and him – of me being in a casket and my daughter running around the funeral home – and you know, she doesn’t have a dad anymore.

Chrissy Lampkin, Olivia Longott, Jim Jones and Rich Dollaz attended a special screening of Love & Hip-Hop at the Gold Room in NYC hosted by executive producer, Mona Scott-Young.  The cast members joined bloggers and members of the press for the premiere of Love & Hip-Hop Season 2 during a private dinner, followed by a Q&A session.

I am so excited to see Chrissy and Jim Jones happy together, especially after watching the super trailer for the season 2 of Love & Hip-Hop. If Jim Jones and Chrissy can make it through two seasons of the drama on Love & Hip-Hop, surely they can stay married longer than 72 days.
