The images are very strong, but we have to send a strong message. We are not wanting to be disrespectful of the leaders … we consider them “conception figures” making a statement of brotherhood with a kiss.

This is no different from black face. I have to disagree with the Un-Hate Campaign on this one. There are so many proud gay and lesbian couples that would pose for this campaign. BUT to make people into something they are not without their consent or permission, is mean-spirited. If you do it for laughs, satire, or comedy, that is different because you know your intentions are not necessarily good intentions, but to photoshop people into something they are not to fight against hate, only undermines your platform. The point of Un-Hate is to accept people as they are, yet this campaign is turning people into something they are not. The campaign is definitely proactive, but it certainly has the opposite effect of Un-Hate. This also sends the message that homosexuality is a choice, and think there are many gay people who would disagree.

Don’t get me wrong, I understand what they are trying to do, I just think there are better ways to do it. Like asking leaders, politicians, or everyday people to pose or submit their own.

According to Quincy Jones‘ youngest daughter & the hilarious star of NBC’s Parks & Recreation Rashida Jones, you just MIGHT have gotten hit by the King of Pop. According to TheWrap.com Rashida sat down with Playboy Magazine and detailed the story of the Super Soaker Assassins. The deadly team of Rashida, Emmauel Lewis and Mike took to the streets to deliver water-based comedy. For one night, at least. “Michael basically grew up with us, so I have a million memories of him,” Jones told the magazine. “We were at each other’s house all the time. He was definitely a little bit of an alien, for sure, and when I was young, it felt as if he was my age, not 18 years older,  but with just a little bit more pep.

He always wore those surgical masks,” she said. “Once, my sister, Michael, ­Emmanuel Lewis and I got in a car with Super Soakers and went by a movie theater and supersoaked the hell out of people waiting in line. They had no idea they’d just been supersoaked by the King of Pop.”

As Mr. West is laid to rest the family will then sprinkle his grave site with crushed Doritos, before having his casket buried.  It’s truly the most appropriate way to send of the inventor of one of the greatest snacks this country has seen.  Every time I open a bag of Doritos and see the crushed chips at the bottom, I will take a moment to remember this man and his greatness. I have literally had my last leg with discriminating police! Miami police department will be notified. A police officer just pulled a weapon on me…. I have done NOTHING illegal, against the law, or anything of the sort. I am simply tired of police using arrogance, ego and authority as an offense.

I’m only tweeting this to raise awareness. I could have left quietly, but I am sick & tired of this scenario being played over & over again. I’m ok. I’m safe & sound at my apartment. I’m just beyond frustrated with the system. It is time to do something about it. I am a mother raising a young black child in America. I’m going to die trying!

Been on the phone for the last 20 minutes reporting this incident. Yes, I have the officers name. Yes, I have the location. Scare tactics don’t WORK.

As more details come out, this story becomes very strange. First of all, this whole mess starts over a giant banana, something Solange conveniently leaves out of her twitter rant. YES! A 5 foot tall inflatable BANANA! (You read it right…please continue for details)…

Here’s what really happened. Solange Knowles tries to take an inflatable 5 ft Banana into club Cameo in Miami, and she’s told, “No”. Well, Solange doesn’t take no for an answer, and reportedly becomes hostile and unruly over her giant inflatable banana, and complains about racial discrimination. The off-duty cops (i.e. security guards) takes Solange across the street to calm her down, and that’s where they allegedly pull out a weapon and threaten to take the large banana’s life. (I’m not making this up, I promise you)

I thought it was strange that Solange left out a few details…but TMZ fills in the blanks {Solange Knowles Almost Arrested Over Giant Banana via TMZ}

So to recap:

1. Solange Knowles tries to take a giant banana into the club

2. The incident involves security guards (off duty cops working part-time jobs), and not the Miami Police Department as she claims.

3. Solange is not stopped because of her race, but because of the giant banana she’s trying take into the club. Unless other white people got to take their giant inflatable fruit into the club before or after Soalnge, I’m not sure how this is a racist matter

4. The “weapon” is not pulled on Soalnge, per se,  it’s actually pulled on the banana as a joke

5. The weapon is not a gun, but a knife used to threaten the inflatable banana’s life?

6. Solange tweets she had the choice of quietly walking away, but chose to take a stand on injustice and arrogance

7. Witnesses says she appeared intoxicated

I feel like black and brown comedians get away with more racial jokes when their talking about each other, than white comedians do. Yes, it was certainly racial humor, but I don’t know if I would call it a racist rant, either.

So I am having a hard time seeing anything wrong with the lyrics. I mean didn’t Lindsay Lohan go to jail and rehab, and isn’t it a matter of public record? I‘m not saying she’s a crackhead, I’m just saying she’s crackhead-ish. Is it really defamatory, if it’s obviously true? Lindsay Lohan mugshot when you continue, plus the details of the lawsuit:

Lindsay Lohan has just sued the rapper Pitbull for a line in his mega-hit, “Give Me Everything,” for a disparaging lyric about her. The song — written by Ne-Yo and Afrojack, also defendants — has a line:

Hustlers move aside, so I’m tiptoein, keep flowin’
I got it locked up like Lindsay Lohan.

Lindsay is pissed, claiming in her lawsuit … “the lyrics, by virtue of its wide appeal, condemnation, excoriation, disparaging or defamatory statements by the defendants about the plaintiff are destined to do irreparable harm to the plaintiff.”

Lindsay, who claims in the lawsuit she is “a professional actor of good repute and standing (O_o) in the Screen Actors Guild, is suing under the New York civil rights laws, which protects people from having their name exploited for commercial purposes.

Lindsay alleges the appearance of her name in the song “causes [Lindsay] to be associated and identified in connection with defendants.”

The suit — filed by Stephanie Ovadia –  seeks an injunction to stop all of the defendants from broadcasting the song.  It also seeks unspecified damages.  Ovadia is the same lawyer who filed the E*TRADE lawsuit on Lindsay’s behalf, which settled for a confidential sum.
