Beyoncé Looks STUNNING In First Appearance Since Giving Birth!!

If you felt the ground shake at any time last night, then it must have been from all the Beyonce stans who fell out over images of her first appearance since giving birth to Blue Ivy. And I have to say, I don’t blame them one bit. She looks fabulous. Beyonce made an appearance last night at Carnegie Hall as her husband Jay Z performed to benefit the United Way of New York. She posted these pics of herself on her website last night.

Even if you don’t care for you, I don’t see how you can look at this picture and NOT think she isn’t working that dress. Speaking of, her dress is designed by Alice Temperly, her clutch is Alexander McQueen, her shoes are Christian Louboutin and her jewelry is by Ofira & Lorraine Schwartz. Nicki Minaj has become quite popular in the world of fashion. From a M.A.C. lipstick shade to befriending Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour, she’s been making some strides when it comes to what’s consider hot nowadays. It seems as though it might all be going to the next level soon. Her manager reportedly told the New York Times that one of a new goal in store for the rapper in 2012: a clothing line.

Cortez Bryant, tells the New York Times he’s got a top priority for 2012 – “to negotiate a deal with a fashion house so Ms. Minaj can sell her own line of clothes”.

That’s sorta cool for her…but I’m thinking…what would that even look like and is that something the average person would be interested in?Nicki has a unique style of her own and that translates pretty well for an entertainer. It’s all apart of the performance. But do I want to walk down the street in a pink fried chicken necklace? Ehhh…I think not. But what say you? Would you totally ride for a Nicki Minaj fashion line? New mom Beyonce is back on the grind, which should be no surprise to anyone. One of the hardest working ladies in entertainment today teamed up with mama Tina Knowles and submitted a graphic t-shirt design for Runway To Win. Runway To Win is support initiative, made up of a team of fashion designers, to support the Obama 2012 Presidential Campaign.

Their design reminds me of some of the House Of Dereon work…hmmm. At any rate, I think the people behind President Obama‘s campaign are quite innovative for working to get this started. Other designers such as Sean John, Russell Simmons, Rachel Roy and Vera Wang are also submitting or have submitted work. Not a fan of t-shirts? Never fear; you have options.The Obama gear run the gamut of fashion choices, from bags t0 purses to t-shirts. The items go on sale on February 7th but are available for pre-order now. Ever since the birth of Blue Ivy Carter, Twitter has been the scene of a damn near drag-out, knockdown fight. While a lot of people are genuinely happy for Jay-Z and Beyonce (ESPECIALLY after hearing this beautiful song Jay-Z released for his daughter), a lot of tweeters have used this as a platform to show how much they dislike Beyonce. Now I’m no Beyonce stan, but folks are out of line, calling a newborn child a “bi*ch” and trying to tie her name into the Illuminati. I mean, really folks? There’s a difference between not liking someone and just being evil for no good reason, to the point where therapy should be your next destination. Proud auntie Solange Knowles has kept pretty silent but took to Twitter to say just a few works about this.

She was in the middle of a backstage photo opp when her and Bridesmaid funny lady Melissa McCarthy were gifted with Cartier jewelry. Mccarthy received a Cartier pendant and Spencer, a Cartier watch.

Can’t wait til the Oscar nominations come out. I’m sure Spencer has a lot more surprises coming her way.

Melanie Amaro wins X Factor, and is now $5 million richer. Honestly, I was rooting for Josh Krajcik, because his voice is gritty and soulful, but after watching Melanie Amaro perform Listen the night before eliminations, I knew she was the person to beat. I am happy she won. The night ended with an emotional Melanie full of joy and tears, praising God for her win, “God is good.” The funniest moment of the night is when the host, Steve Jones, chases Melanie all around the stage trying get a comment from Melanie on her win, but she’s too emotional to speak. Steve even tried to interrupt her while she’s on her knees praying, like she’s going to put God on pause just to give Steve a sound bite.

AND now I must write about Paula Abdul’s color-block outfit. While Melanie was on stage trying to sing through her emotions, I didn’t notice what Paula Abdul was wearing. The dim lights and the judge’s table, hid most of her outfit, and she appeared cute from the waist up. But now, we have the red carpet pics of the whole outfit, and I am wondering if this is a color-block fail:

Kim Kardashian is in trouble again. After her fake marriage to Kris Humphries, Kim Kardashian is no longer a media darling. In fact, Kim and the whole Kardashian family have been accused of hiring sweatshop labor to create their fabulous line of clothes and shoes. While the Kardashian family brought in $65 million last year from their product lines, some of the people reportedly working on those product lines may only bring home $180 a year. NY Post reports:

…workers toil in un-airconditioned factories, even as temperatures swell over 100 degrees. Workers live in squalid dormitories and, after they pay for room and board, often pocket as little as $15 a month. Some workers clocked as many as 84 hours a week under conditions that investigators describe as akin to “minimum security prisons.

You can’t talk during working hours, you can’t listen to music; you can’t stand up and stretch. You can’t even put your head up and look around, or you will be screamed at. If you get permission to use the toilet, you get four minutes. If you’re highly specialized, you cannot even go to the bathroom.

Just before the news broke of the sweatshop, Kim Kardashian and her mother, Kris Jenner, headed to Haiti for some “charity” work. By charity, I mean a distraction from the negative press of hiring companies that run sweatshops in China. One thing I have learned from blogging, there are generally no coincidences when your life is run by a publicist. Now we all know, you can’t get nice shoes from ShoeDazzle for $39.95, without someone hiring slave labor to mass produce them. To be fair, the Kardashian family may not have been aware of these conditions, until the news broke. Many of their other companies are not linked to sweatshops. Hopefully this will be investigated more closely and corrected soon.

The Kardashians are in bed with some pretty bad people,” alleges Kernaghan. “Not only are celebrities like the Kardashians taking advantage of these workers, they are holding hands with a government that spits on democracy and women’s rights.

I am huge fan of Tracee Ellis Ross. I have two style icons, Nia Long and Tracee Ellis Ross. When it comes to Tracee’s fashion sense, I believe she is one of the the most original in what works well for her personality and body type. Some artist like to be outrageous for the sake of being different *whispers Nicki Minaj* that their style seems inauthentic, and very forced. Tracee Ellis Ross’ on the other hand, her style comes across effortlessly and natural, therefore she appears comfortable in her own skin.

AND…Don’t let me get started on the hair. I love her hair! I am so thankful that Tracee stars on Reed Between the Lines, in family of women with natural hair. So many new natural hair styles to ponder from week to week. Check out what Tracee tells VIBE Vixen about her style, and about her role on the show:

VV: Let’s talk about your style. Before when we spoke, you mentioned that some of the pieces from Girlfriends would find their way into Carla’s wardrobe. What’s the inspiration? Do you work with designers or find things out and about?

Ross: It’s stuff that’s been found out and about. The way I went about Joan and Carla is I always ask myself who this woman is. Every once in a while people say Carla is so much like Joan, and I’m like, ‘People, Tracee plays both people.’ So what you’re seeing that’s the same between Carla and Joan is not Carla being like Joan, but it’s Tracee. Tracee was Joan and Tracee is Carla. It’s so funny people don’t understand that, it makes me laugh.

VV: Do you think The Cosby Show comparisons set the audience expectations too high?
Ross: I don’t know. For some people, it’s a great context to know what the show might be, and for some people, it makes it hard because you’re comparing it to something that you have such a clear idea of. BET seems to be promoting it as the new Cosby, which I don’t think it helpful, and I don’t think makes sense.

The way Malcolm [Jamal Warner] and I have been describing it is that we are in no way, shape or form trying to be a new Cosby Show. What we are doing is taking the recipe of what Cosby did, which was a family show that was timeless and good, and use those elements.

I can’t get invested in whether it hurts the show or not. The beauty of being on BET in this day and age is that on other network they do two episodes and they pull a show from television. Sometimes that’s the greatest thing, and sometimes it just never had a chance to grow. With BET, we did 25 episodes and we’re getting a chance. It’s really wonderful working with a network that wants your show and is behind your show. The audience asked for this kind of show, BET listened and they went out and have gotten behind our show. On other networks, I don’t know if that always happens.

During the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, Nicki Minaj is seen wearing an outfit with the words, “Boom Boom,” in bold lime green letters, along with a very colorful ensemble of hearts, stars, and mirrors. At first I honestly thought her clothes said, “Boo Boo,” and that she was wearing a Halloween costume in November. So glad I was wrong.

Jennifer Lopez nearly in tears as she accepts the award, dedicates her speech to the women in her life, who are obviously helping her through difficult times with the divorce and transitioning to a single mother of twins.

It’s the women. Through the ups and the not so ups, that’s the one thing that got me through. My grandmother, who taught me to cook and not be afraid to serve and be humble. And to go out looking nice because people like that and then they respect you…My daughter Emme (3) inspires me to be a better human being.

Artist for Peace “Never Again” Concert took place Monday Night in Universal City, CA to honor Stevie Wonder and peace efforts against genocide. It was the Lost & Found event of the year. Bobby Brown made an appearance, along with Eric Benet, Pras, Wayne Brady, and Tommy Davidson. Seriously where have all of these people been? Chaka Khan serenaded her good friend Stevie Wonder. Many of you may not know this, I really didn’t either (I’m not that old), but before their was a Beyonce, Chaka Khan held the title of the voice with the body. As you can see below in her leopard boots and bodysuit, Ms Chaka Khan is holding on to that title.

Actually in her younger years, Chaka Khan and Nicki Minaj resemblance is quite striking. It’s almost eerie. I would like to see Nicki Minja remake this photo in Ebony Icons.

Anyway, back to the topic. Stevie Wonder is holding on to his braids, but I don’t know how much longer the braids can hold on, his iconic look is fading fast.
