Back in September I posted up a blog post on this MLH peacock sequin dress…as seen on Aubrey O’Day and Ashanti.
Since then the dress made another appearance via Danity Kane’s Dawn Richard and her hot Dior wedge cut-out sandals.
So this question goes out to all Mrs. Grapevine readers, which lady pulled off the look - Ashanti, Aubrey O’Day or Dawn?

The fashion world is thoroughly excited about designing Michelle Obama’s Inauguration look. So far designers Marc Bouwer, Reem Acra and Isabel Toledo have offer their sketch designs to People’s fashion blog, Off The Rack.
The hype surrouding what Michelle would wear when her husband President-Elect Barack Obama gets sworn in as the 44th Commander in Chief is quite off the charts. There’s even talks of Michelle having her own Vogue cover.
Even Project Runway designers have a few designs in mind for the First Lady-Elect.
So far I think the off the shoulder Marc Bouwer dress is a winner but that decison is all up to Michelle. Your thoughts?

Alicia was in New York City promoting the re-release of her third album, “As I Am: The Super Edition.” And now onto what she wore. Naomi Campbell and Jennifer Lopez are fans of the ankle version of Alicia’s patent leather YSL boots.

The 2008 World Music Awards was held in Monte Carlo, Monaco this Sunday with many familar faces in attendance.
Alicia Keys switched out her purple strapless dress to perform in black Yves Saint Laurent mary jane platforms. A new single from Alicia’s upcoming album re-release “As I Am: The Super Edition” circulated around the music scene this past week. Check out Alicia’s new song, “Savior” here.
Solange looked fab on and off stage as did the event’s co-host Michelle Williams. Hate to say this but where is Kelly Rowland??
Beyonce Sasha Fierce kept it funky in bronze Extreme Dior gladiator sandals for her “Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)” performance.
Estelle had on the same Giuseppe Zanotti peep toe wedges that Ciara wore for her controversial “Vibe” magazine cover. Back in the press room with her well deserved Best R&B Act award, Estelle flaunted her purple and gold Pierre Hardy moire velvet sandals.
The Cannons as I like to call these two complimented one another on and off the stage as Quick blogged about. You gotta love Mariah’s red Diane von Furstenberg dress. (Did you notice how Nick’s watch matched her outfit?!)

The Knowles sisters (Beyonce & Solange) were seen in Tokyo, Japan to promote their Samantha Thavasa handbag collection at the brand new Tiffany & Co’s retail boutique Eight Million. Solange had on a black Emporio Armani belt while Beyonce has on a turquoise and brown Herve Leger dress. Great to see that these two support each other!

Much fuss was made about Governor Sarah Palin’s $150,000 outfits. The Associated Press wrapped up the discussion of Michelle’s outfit as follows…

“Actually, this is a J. Crew ensemble,” the wife of Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama told comedian Jay Leno on Monday on his talk show. She wore a yellow sweater, skirt and blouse ensemble.
“You can get some good stuff online,” she added.
Questioned by Leno, the potential first lady declined to criticize GOP vice presidential hopeful Sarah Palin about revelations that the Republican National Committee spent $150,000 at Neiman Marcus and other high-end retailers on clothes and accessories for Palin and her family.
Obama said she and her husband have a policy of spending their own money on their clothes. But she said she wanted to be “empathetic.”
“A V.P. pick, it’s like being shot out of a cannon. All of a sudden you’re at the center of attention, and you want to look good,” said Michelle Obama, adding she has never met Palin. “You’re living in your home, minding your business, and all of a sudden you’re on the national stage and everyone’s watching.” [READ MORE...]

I like when you get a real glimpse into the character to the candidates. When I came across pictures of Barack & Michelle Obama in my inbox, these two pictures stood out the most.
With all the drama surrounding Sarah Palin and her $150,000 shopping spree at Neiman Marcus, Saks 5th Avenue, and Bloomingdales; this picture says a lot about which politician understands what it feels like to be a regular person. Real people shop at a discount. I wasn’t aware that there is a Neiman Marcus in small town Alaska. Last time I checked Neiman Marcus is not located in “real” America, but in those big cities, where the liberal leftist live. It reminds me of what Chris Rocks said, “I’m voting for the guy who has one house.” Or in this case, I’m voting for the man who knows what it’s like to walk a mile in my shoes...
This second picture is important, because it’s one thing to show affectionate when the cameras are rolling, but it’s another to capture those unscripted moments. Do you have a man or a woman that loves you like this? They just want to be next to you sharing time with you because there’s no better place to be…
Ashanti attended the Gabrielle’s Angel Foundation Gala in New York City last night. She wore a Notte by Marchesa lace dress and Lorraine Schwartz bracelets to the event.

Tennis champions Serena and Venus Williams offered a bit of class in couture designs for a fashion spread inside the pages of “Harper’s Bazaar” magazine (Nov. 2008).
Serena and Venus also said who they think is better…fashion-wise:

Katie Holmes is the latest celebrity to get bitten by the clothing line bug because she used the golden opportunity to flaunt her own design at the “All My Sons” opening night on Broadway. Maybe because Katie went all out designing her lace and beige silk one-piece outfit, she didn’t have time to do her toe nails. That small oversight happens to everyone.
Mariah Carey went for a classy look in a red floor-length gown at the 2008 Spirit of Life Award Dinner party. That marriage glow fits Mrs. Cannon to a tee!
Melanie Brown had all eyes on her (literally) when she attended the 2008 MOBO Awards in this nod to a vintage Grace Jones get-up. I especially enjoy Melanie’s brave spirit for wearing this outfit. Between her dress choice and her hair, Melanie definitely seize and held on tight to her fashion statement.

Toni Braxton, who by the way just turn 42, was seen in a Hervé Léger by Max Azria dress at the Spirit of Life Award dinner looking great and not a day over 25! Toni certainly loves Mr. Leger’s designs because she was in this Amelie One Shoulder Double Strap Dress by Hervé Léger back in April.

Usher and Russell proved a guy can still look professional and casual enough to wore this style. Who wants to rock a suit anyway?
