It’s safe to say Rihanna probably slept well last night, rather well. A load has been lifted off the singer’s shoulders as after a prolonged period of harassment Rihanna’s stalker has been arrested. The stalker, a homeless New York City man, previously made three trips to the front door of her Manhattan apartment.
The 53-year-old man, identified as Kevin McGlynn, reportedly turned up at Rih Rih’s multi-million dollar apartment twice on July 8 and again on July 11 to deliver threatening letters. Get this: Kevin was able to avoid security and the police on all three visits, yet the NYPD found his name when he dropped his benefits card with his name and address on it. McGlynn has finally been arrrested on charges of stalking and harassment.
Additionally, the stalker posted a bevy of letters to Rihanna’s California residence.
All this madness perhaps is just all in a days work when ya shine bright like a diamond.
Looks like Brandy’s little brother has gotten himself in some hot water. R& B singer and actor Ray J has been charged with several misdemeanors. In May of this year, Ray J was at a bar in the Beverly Wilshire Hotel where he was turning it up in true rock star fashion. During the course of the night, Ray J became a little rowdy and brushed up against a female patron at the bar. The police were called, and Ray J totally lost it.
Arresting the singer didn’t stop his rampage; instead while inside the police car Ray J was seen kicking out the back window. Ray told TMZ that he kicked out the window due to him being claustrophobic. Well, kicking out the window forced the officers to put Ray in restraints, and while doing so, Ray spit on one of the officers. On July 21st, the L. A. county District Attorney charged Ray J with 4 counts of resisting arrest. According to TMZ, the singer was also charged with sexual battery even though the police that were present said that no such crime was committed due to the singer’s actions not being intentional. The singer was also charged with assault, battery, and vandalism which were also misdemeanors.
Once Apollo finishes his 8-year prison sentence, he will not exactly return to being a free citizen, and it won’t be life as usual. Apollo will have to be on probation for 5 years, and abide by some very strict rules. According to court documents, Nida will have to perform a 100 hours of community service, and cannot be associated with any convicted felons. Apollo will also be required to attend a drug and alcohol treatment program for at least 12 weeks, which he will have to pay for out of his own pocket or should I say Phaedra’s pocket.
The fun doesn’t stop there; Apollo’s assets will be under pure scrutiny. Apollo will have to fully disclose all his assets and be prepared for random audits of his finances. While on probation, Nida will have to get permission from his probation officer if he wants
Wendy Williams is known for sharing her opinion on every topic under the sun, and no one is safe from her verbal wrath. Recently she shared her thoughts about the future of Real Housewives of Atlanta cast member Phaedra Parks and her marriage to Apollo Nida. Earlier this week, Apollo was sentenced to serve 8 years in prison for conspiracy to commit bank fraud and wire transfer.
Something should have made you, Apollo, want to do better. That takes some kind of smarts, Apollo. Why couldn’t you apply that to night school and get a trade? He had five years to go to trade school – learn to be a welder or something – to get his life together.
Wendy expressed that she had no sympathy for Apollo and supports Phaedra’s decision not to be present in the courtroom during his sentencing. Wendy does not feel like Phaedra should stand by her man, or wait around until he is released from prison. Instead, she thinks that Phaedra should take this opportunity to make a clean break and run for the hills. Wendy told her show audience, “Eight years is a long time. Somebody needs
Real Housewives of Atlanta’s Apollo Nida has just learned his fate. Apollo had been charged with conspiracy to commit bank fraud and wire transfer. Tuesday an Atlanta judge sentenced him to 8 years in prison. Apollo Nida is the husband of entertainment lawyer Phaedra Parks who is an official cast member on the show. According to Centric, Mrs. Parks was not seen in the courtroom while the sentence was being given, but Apollo’s mom, Katrina Toohey, and brother, Michael Derrick, were present to support him. Apollo will be given a date to surrender at a later time.
Don’t worry, according to Apollo’s lawyer, Thomas Bever, Apollo may only have to serve seven years if he demonstrates good behavior instead of the full eight. O_o I know Phaedra’s absence will spark a lot of divorce rumors, but she knew who she was marrying. We’ll keep you updated on this developing story when the couple, or maybe just Apollo, release an official statement.
Actor Columbus Short can’t seem to avoid scandal as early Saturday morning he found himself in trouble with the law yet again. Dallas police arrested Short around 2 a.m. Saturday for public intoxication at Katy Trail Ice House, a restaurant and beer garden in Texas.
This arrest is proving to be just the ‘icing on the cake’ of a string or embarrassing and deplorable disputes with the law Columbus has spawned over the last year. If you recall, even Shonda Rhimes couldn’t find a way to save the actor as he was fired from her massively popular show, Scandal.
Back in April, Short’s wife accused him of trying to kill her with a knife. Tanee Short filed for both a restraining order, to keep him from her and their 2-year-old daughter, and for a divorce to end their nine-year marriage. Additionally, in March, the actor was arrested after being accused of punching a patron in a Los Angeles restaurant.
Short’s publicist declined comment Saturday evening. Here’s to hoping Columbus gets his act together asap!
