So how many of you got tickets to one of the most coveted shows of the year? This weekend marks the return of Beyoncé to the stage, after giving birth to daughter Blue Ivy.  Revel Resorts in Atlantic City, New Jersey is hosting Bey for shows on May 26th to May 28th. I happen to know of a few people who are down there preparing now.  Beyoncé has made a making of video to mark this special occassion.

The first thing I noticed off the bat was that her voice sounds a little bit deeper to me.  I experienced the same thing in the aftermath of my pregnancy as well, so I commend her for being able to hit those notes with the same vocal range and intensity as before.  This video also revels just how much she throws herself into the planning of the shows, from lighting to angles to choreography to sets.  Check out the video below:

R&B super star, Usher Raymond kicked off this year’s Toyota Concert Series this morning on The Today Show.

In his first-ever “Today” concert, the seven-time Grammy award winner rocked out in Rockefeller Plaza performing “OMG,” “Without U” and his new hits “Climax”(my favorite) and “Scream.”

This year’s line-up includes his protege Justin Bieber(June 15th) and Chris Brown (June 8th), two superstars who set record-breaking crowds in previous “Today” concerts. The 2012 series will also feature Pitbull (May 25th) and Flo Rida (July 6th).

This year, “Today” is partnering with Pandora to extend the concert series beyond the Plaza and into the digital space.

Kelis has fallen off the radar, since her divorce and custody war with Nas. Three years ago I just couldn’t get enough of Kelis. The singer hit the stage in Las Vegas at the Palms Resort & Casino to kick-off their Ditch Fridays pool party series. I see she’s making her way back to the big hair.

Lauryn Hill hit the stage at Indigo O2 in London with freshly cut hair.  Before performing Lauryn Hill lets the crowd know that the old Lauryn Hill is back. The new Lauryn Hill received some bad reviews due to her excessive tardiness, erratic and eccentric behavior, and unnecessary remixes to the great Lauryn Hill classics:

The thing I like about Rihanna is that she is a fan of music, and it shows. Rihanna attended the 2012 Coachella Music Festival which included a surprise performance from the singer. Rihanna joined DJ Calvin Harris on stage, and gave the audience their money’s worth. Rihanna and Katy Perry had fun interacting with the crowd as well as each other, and at one point participated in crowd surfing. Rihanna tweeted about the whole night, including seeing Tupac perform live with Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg. Here are few pics:

Tupac Shakur performed this past weekend at the Coachella Music Festival on stage with Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg. He performed Hail Mary as his first song, and that did it for me! The hologram was close enough to the real thing that the audience at Coachella went crazy with screams when the 3D hologram of Tupac appeared on stage. It’s about time they put this technology to good use. I have to give props to Dr. Dre for that one. He just gave a Tupac stan LIFE!

Nicki Minaj’s Pink Friday: Roman Re-Loaded is in stores now, and Nicki Minaj has been making the mainstream rounds promoting her new project. I guess with motherhood safely underway, Beyoncé is ready to get back to what she loves: performing.  Via her website, Beyoncé has joined up with Revel Resorts to take to the stage during the Memorial Day 2012 weekend.

The $2.5 billion casino is located in Atlantic City, NJ and Mama Bey will be their first headlining performer.  What a way to start out!  The last time Beyoncé performed in Atlantic City was back in 2007 so I’m sure this is a highly anticipated show, on all levels!  If you wanna see her perform, you JUST might be able to make that happen.  Get all the ticketing information, when you continue…

Rihanna has been in the news lately and none of it has been good. Womp. First, on Saturday during a concert in Portugal, Rihanna’s health struggles came to a head. It’s been no secret that she’s been battling everything from exhaustion to the flu during this tour. If it was me, I’d take this as a clue that my schedule needs to slow down. Not everyone can have a hectic tour run and perform top notch every night. But, despite doctor’s warnings, Rihanna kept pushing through shows.

Then, after way through performing her song What’s My Name, RiRi had to rush off stage…to throw up. Yeah. She even went on to Twitter later on, to explain what happened.

“yep! i ran off stage to throw up, halfway thru Whats My Name…made it back juuuust in time for RudeBoy” she tweeted to a fan following the show.

Poor thing.  Check out the footage where she runs off stage here.  And if that didn’t make her feel bad, the people over at Jackie magazine made her feel even worse.  While the Dutch magazine was trying to praise her style and give readers tips on how to pull off her look in the cold of winter, they used a “colorful” title.   How they didn’t know it was offensive, I’ll never know. So yesterday, I was giving the side eye to VH1 for the headlining lineup. And I was really hoping that it wouldn’t be as bad as I was thinking it would be…and…*sigh* Gone are the days when VH1 Divas was something to really get excited about. In small increments, the show was successful. For instance, The Roots did an outstanding job as the band for all the performers. Which I didn’t doubt at all. Jill Scott pulled the thug tears out of everyone far and wide with her performance of Hear My Call.

But there was just something, that didn’t curl all the way over, for the show as a whole. I mean, when you have ?uestlove of The Roots already tweeting in attempts to control the slander? Amber Rose has been rocking the baldie for a while now, so when I saw this picture of Amber Rose with long black hair at Wiz Khalifa concert in Atlanta,  I was shocked at how adorable she looks with long hair. I haven’t seen Angie Stone since Celebrity Fit Club, and although I’ve heard she’s gained most of the weight back, she looks amazing in these pics from the upcoming episode of Verses & Flow on TV One. Verses & Flow is a new TV One series that feature spoken word artist along side musical guests in a 30-minute segment of arts and entertainment. Last week the show featured a special performance from Tyrese, and this week we will see Angie Stone in action. The episode featuring Angie Stone airs Thursday, December 8th at 10 PM CT, on TV One. Spoken word artists will include Bone Crusher, Prentice Powell, Professor Ray Grant, and Hill Harper will host along with Cathy Hughes.

The 2011 Grammy Nomination Concert was held live last night at Nokia Theater in LA, hosted by LL Cool J. The concert included a special performance of The Message, originally recorded by Grandmaster Flash and Furious Five, with Rappers Common, LL COOL J, Lupe Fiasco, Rick Ross, along with the original group members Grandmaster Flash, Melle Mel, and Scorpio.

Actors, Taraji P Henson and Taylor Lautner, announced the nominations for the 2012 Grammy Awards. Kanye West leads the pack with seven nominations, followed by Adele, Bruno Mars, and the Foo Fighters with six nominations, and Lil Wayne garners five.

I’m also proud to announce that Cee-Lo Green, Chris Brown, Rihanna and Jay-Z have multiple nominations as well. Beyonce, Kelly Rowland, Chris Brown, Melanie Fiona, Ledisi, Marsha Ambrosius, Raphael Saddiq, Eric Benet, Kelly Price & Stokley, Wiz Khalifa, Drake, Charlie Wilson, El Debarge, and Andre 3000 are all up for nods in R&B and Rap categories. I am certain that Beyonce and Jay-Z had their pregnancy planned at least a year in advance. Why? Because Beyonce is an amazing business woman and understands that fans would be very eager for her to give birth to little Child of Destiny (I’ll be here all night, ladies and gentlemen!) and get back to making music. In a brilliant move, she’s putting out a live concert DVD called Live At Roseland.

Bey performed a series of 4 intimate concerts in New York and has put them together with additional footage. This will keep her fans satisfied for at least a year or so. Enough time to give birth and have some mommy time. Three clips from the DVD have been released thus far, giving us a look into the concert and personal moments. The lastest clip, I Was Here, (which is one of the three songs I truly love on the wackass 4 album) includes clips of her life and career up until now, including a quick glimpse at her faboulous wedding dress. It’s stunning. And I’m amazed wedding photos haven’t been released but I can dig it! Check out the clip, after the jump…

Here are some pics from the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, with performances by Kanye West, Nicki Minaj, Jay-Z, and Adam Levine plus Maroon 5.  Nicki Minaj always wears strange things that pushes the boundaries of fashion, and this time Nicki Minaj continues to wears outfits that pushes the boundaries of fashion. During the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, Nicki Minaj is seen wearing an outfit with the words, “Boom Boom,” in bold lime green letters, along with a very colorful ensemble of hearts, stars, and mirrors. At first I honestly thought her clothes said, “Boo Boo,” and that she was wearing a Halloween costume in November. So glad I was wrong.

Michael Jackson’s daughter, Paris Jackson, is a huge Chris Brown fan. When the R&B singer found out Michael Jackson’s daughter was attending his concert, Breezy made sure that Paris and her girlfriends received nothing but VIP treatment.

Michael Jackson‘s daughter is in love with Chris Brown … and last night at his L.A. concert, the singer made sure the King of Pop’s little girl got nothing short of the royal treatment.
