It is good to be The Carters. Real, real good. Beyonce and Jay-Z are gearing up for their first ever joint tour and the result is proving to be massive! When taking two of the biggest names is music and meshing them into one production you’d think the result would be record breaking…well, it seems like these two are on track to do just that, break records.
Earlier in the month there were a bevy of outlets reporting underwhelming ticket sales for the dream duo’s ‘On The Run’ tour but those reports have since been squashed. In fact, the superstar couple’s joint trek will likely be the second highest grossing tour per show in history.
According to the money minds at Forbes, Beyonce and Jay-Z’s tour will sell nearly 1 million tickets when all is said and done with a net gross of somewhere around $100 million. To break it down that’s over a 5 million dollar gross per show. With 20 shows scheduled that would put Jay and Bey second only to U2?s “360 Tour” ($736 million/110 shows).
The ‘On The Run Tour’ is set to kick off on June 25th at Miami’s Sun Life Stadium. Shows are also scheduled for 19 other stops including Atlanta, New York, Los Angeles and 2 newly announced dates in France.
The wait is finally over, this morning Michelle Williams hit up Good Morning America to give a sneak peak of the music video for her new single “Say Yes” featuring DC3 members Beyonce and Kelly Rowland. Aside from giving fans a look at the video she also talked about her new album Journey to Freedom, which is set for a September release date. The video was shot last month in New Jersey, and what started as a private video shoot soon turned to something public once the ladies were spotted by fans.

We all love us some Mrs. Carter, and it’s always a beautiful thing when she graces a magazine cover and this time she has landed the cover of New Times Style Magazine T. Aside from the great pieces rocked by Beyoncé in the shoot, the magazine touches on the transformation Beyoncé has made within her career and how she’s literally one of the most popular artist who now sits on top of the world. In the magazine the recent Beyoncé skit that appeared on Saturday Night Live was mentioned, with the influence she has had and all of the bars she has set, she has been labeled a national figure.
Black women have always been dominant figures in American popular music, but no one, not even Aretha Franklin, has reached the plateau that Beyoncé occupies: pop star colossus, adored bombshell, “America’s sweetheart.” Inevitably, Beyoncé is also a flashpoint, provoking ire from naysayers and ideologues of all stripes.

As a part of her upcoming album Journey to Freedom, Michelle Williams did her own remake to Nigerian church song “When Jesus Say Yes” and tapped her DC3 sisters Beyonce and Kelly Rowland to be featured on the song. The music video for the uptempo gospel song was recently shot in New Jersey, and it gave the ladies the perfect opportunity to reunite on camera once again.
