Despite an abrupt cancellation of her 2007 concert in Malaysia, due to protesters threatening to disrupt it because of her sexual image, Beyonce Knowles will finally take the stage on Oct. 25 in the country’s biggest city, Kuala Lumpur.
However, according to the Associated Press, the Grammy Award-winning superstar still isn’t receiving the ‘Diva’ treatment that she’s accustomed to: earlier this week, beyonceSabki Yusof, head of the Pan-Malaysian Islamic Party,stated that his organization would send a protest note to the government over the singer’s show.
The country enforces and requires all female performers to cover up from the shoulders to knees with no cleavage showing.
According to Page Six, a New York club owner is upset with Beyonce after shelling out $300,000 to the pop singer for a contracted performance.
M2 owner Joey Morrissey agreed to pay the singer $200,000 for the gig, he says.
But on Wednesday, Beyoncé’s people suddenly pulled the plug on the performance, despite having signed a contract that had prompted Morrissey to spend $100,000 preparing for the show, according to the clubowner. “They said they were too busy with the launching of the tour and that they wouldn’t have time to do the kickoff party,” Morrissey tells Page Six.
To make up for the cancellation, Morrissey says Beyoncé offered to stop by the club “to hang out for an hour” on Sunday. He adds, “I mean, we sold tables for thousands of dollars for the show, and spent $100,000 renting a soundboard and other equipment, as per their stipulations. What good does her showing up for an hour do me? They’ve been totally unwilling to agree to another show.”
As a result, Morrissey says he’s now preparing to file suit against Beyoncé
I looked at these pictures and I said, “Wow! Jennifer Hudson is definitely pregnant,” but haven’t we seen this before? A little “Deja-Vu”. Think back to last year, before Beyonce and Jay-Z were married. There were pictures floating around, and sources close to Beyonce “leaked and confirmed” her pregnancy. But months later, we had a marriage, but no baby. Beyonce’s camp claimed she gained weight for the part of Etta James in the movie Cadillac Records. I saw Cadillac Records and she didn’t gain that much weight.
I always wonder why celebrities go to such lengths to hide a pregnancy, when in reality the truth will come out. I guess they’re just creating media distance for the baby to be.
Anyway, I say all of that to say this: Jennifer Hudson may in fact be pregnant, but it means nothing until she’s ready to confirm it or until we see an actual baby... After all just think about Beyonce a year ago…
