Robin Thicke is no doubt singing the blues. All seemed to be well in the world of Robin a year ago at this time- the singer was riding high off his insanely popular track Blurred Lines and Thicke’s stock had never been so high. For a moment he was the top artist in the game. Fast forward to summer 2014 and Robin is singing a different tune. The singer released his follow-up album to last years Blurred Lines just last weeks and the result was…tragic.
If you recall, Robin was caught red-handed in the midst of a juicy cheating scandal this past fall and was immediately exiled by his then wife Paula Patton. Thicke immediately began back-pedaling and attempted to win his wife back. The singer was so determined to win her back he named this new album after the actress. Unfortunately for Robin, the album has tanked.
The new studio album, Paula, only sold 530 copies in the U.K. in its first week of sales. To put in contrast, his last album Blurred Lines sold 25,981 copies in July 2013! In the U.S., Thicke’s new album landed at No. 9 on the Billboard 200 with sales of 24,000!
Hopefully the singer has a plan to pull his career and marriage out of the gutter!
With the release of Think Like A Man Too literally days away (June 20th) and the release of the movies soundtrack being today it is only right there is an official video to debut. Like previously reported, Mary J Blige recorded the entire soundtrack for the film. One track on the album is “A Night To Remember”, which is a remake of Shalamar’s 1982 hit single. In the music video the Queen of Hip Hop/ Soul can be seen looking through a few options of clothes looking for the perfect outfit for a night on the town. Also in the video she receives assistance from celebrity stylist June Ambrose before the two head out to enjoy their night.

Did you hear that? That’s the sound of Mariah Carey screaming, “SOS!”.
It seems as though things have gone from bad to worse for the chanteuse as the sales of her new album have hit abysmal lows at retail sotred in the second week of its release. Following the embarrassing record low first week sales of Mariah Carey‘s new album ‘Me. I Am Mariah…The Elusive Chanteuse’ last week, the fate of the album is all but sealed after reviewing this week’s numbers.
Yesterday Jenny returned to her block, and when I say block I mean she returned to the Bronx, NY to put on a free concert. All in celebration for her new upcoming album A.K.A releasing on June 17th. The concert was held at Orchard Beach in Pelham Bay and was sponsored by State Farm as it served as one of the concerts for their national concert series. Before J.Lo could grace the stage with some of her new hits, she first had to take it back both with her music and her wardrobe. She donned a custom made bodysuit to resemble her memorable Versace gown from the 2000 Grammy Awards. She even brought out Ja Rule to perform their classic hits “I’m Real” and “Ain’t That Funny”. Many other guest were in attendance such as, Fat Joe, T.I., French Montana, Khloe Kardashian and more.

Poor Mariah. The biggest selling artist of all time released her new album last week and the results were tragic..to say the least. The album, Me. I Am Mariah…The Elusive Chanteuse only managed to shift 56,000 copies in its opening week on the Billboard 200.
Music experts know that across the board album sales have been down for all artists over the past few years but given Mariah’s extensive, loyal fan-base, and her history as someone who can sell albums, her under-performance is devastating and most likely incredibly embarrassing for the talented songstress.
Let’s put things into perspective: her previous album, 2009′s Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel, also did not debut
Mary J Blige is back with new music, “Suitcase” serves as the first official single off of the soundtrack to the new film Think Like A Man Too, which hits theaters on June 20th. “Suitcase” is not the only single from Mary that appears on the soundtrack, as she recorded the entire soundtrack for the film. Also on the soundtrack there is a remake of Shalamar’s 1982 hit single “A Night to Remember”. As if excitement for the film already didn’t exist, but now an entire project full of new MJB music tops it off.
Think Like A Man Too Soundtrack releases on June 17th.
