In an interview with The Jewish Chronicle Online, Young Money artist Drake claimed he is the first person to successfully rap and sing.
“There were people who incorporated melody before me, but I would deem myself the first person to successfully rap and sing.”
Our course this caused a stir among hip-hop heads (both young and old) with almost everyone referring back to Ja Rule.
It seems like a lot of the artists in the Young Money camp could use a few lessons when it comes to hip-hop history so we put together just a small list of some of our favorite songs of hip-hop artists that have combined rapping and singing-successfully!
In the tweet of the night…while you were sleep, reality empress Kim Kardashian sent out what was a simple positive tweet about moving forward in life to which singer/actor Ray J replied, “LOL”.
We can all assume that tweet was made as a snicker at Kim K. who has built her career based off her past with Ray J. You can say what you want about Kim K. turning a negative into a positive, but it seems like Ray J. will forever get the last laugh. Even if Kanye West comes at him with a diss record like he did with Kris Humprhies (who also got the last laugh) Ray J can bring up the sextape which is all over the internet. Unfortunately, pics from the flick are resurfacing all over Twitter again.
The night did not go without
On last night’s episode of Love & Hip-Hop Atlanta, Momma Dee confronted Erica about not taking care of Scrappy when he had his asthma attack.
There seems to be a debate, men versus women on who was right or wrong in this situation.
According to Erica, when Scrappy had an asthma attack, she made sure he was escorted to the hospital by his friends and then she left for work. Erica also mentioned that when she lost their first child, Scrappy left her with his homeboy and left town. To Scrappy, Erica going off to work was a sign of abandonment and being emotionally unavailable. Momma Dee screamed over and over again, that Erica left her son for dead.
So, who is right or wrong in this situation?
Last night in Los Angeles, Sports and Hollywood collided at the 2012 ESPN ESPY Awards celebrating the best and brightest in sports.
Matt Kemp of the LA Dodgers was the best dressed male arriving on the red carpet. We love that he is so involved with the Hollywood sports community. He is truly taking advantage of what being a sports star in LA has to offer…lots of perks!
Also in attendance was some of your favorite sports stars such as Jeremy Lin who took home an ESPY Award for “Best Breakthrough Athlete”-well deserved for catching attention of a global sports audience.

Last night and way into the early morning, we partied the night away with the best, biggest and brightest celebrity athletes in Hollywood at the 2012 ESPY Awards After-Party in Los Angeles, CA.
After attending the ESPY Awards, we were treated to a post-party production with lavish food and drinks along with DJ Biz Markie spinning old school tunes.
The stage was set, but no one knew for whom. We got up close front row to the stage only to find out that Lauryn Hill would be the surprise guest. All we can say is that she brought down the house. Rocking a short natural look, not only did she look amazing, she sounded great.
After her performance last night, I no longer have any worry nor concern about whether she can make a comeback. Lauryn Hill is all good. Also, I no longer have any concern about what appears to be a decline of female emcees. As long as we have Lauryn around, females in R&B and hip-hop have no excuse-at least she is still somewhat in the game to give us a balance. Anways, she performed a medley of songs from her solo album such as “X-Factor”,”Everything is Everyting”, “That Thing”,”Lost Ones” and took it back to Fugees with “Oh La La La”.
