Jamie Foxx To Portray Mike Tyson In Upcoming Biopic
It appears that this is the year of the biopic. So far biopics are in the works for Jimmy Hendrix, Whitney Houston, Aaliyah, and Richard Pryor. Oh and I can’t forget to mention the recently released biopic of James Brown. Now it appears that Iron Mike Tyson wants to jump in the biography film ring as well. Tyson has already had his life story told when he performed in his one-man show entitled Mike Tyson: Undisputed Truth, which was directed by Spike Lee.
Now Tyson has decided that he wants a full-fledged film about his life, and according to Vibe, Mike has already discussed the venture with Jamie Foxx. Tyson feels that Jamie would be the perfect person to portray him in the film.
“Me and Jamie Foxx have been talking and he’s willing to take that role and portray me as Mike Tyson, doing my life story…I think he’s splendid because he’s really up to par. I think he would do a magnificent job…he doesn’t have the physicality, but he will. He’s able to […] get bulky, so he’s capable of doing it in the future.”
Jamie Foxx is no stranger to the biopic world and has already portrayed musician Nathaniel Ayers, gang leader Tookie Williams, and musician Ray Charles. There is no word yet as to who will direct the film or when it will begin production.
