The View has seen it’s fair share of shake-ups during its illustrious run on daytime. The gabfest has seen the likes of Star Jones, Rosie O’donnell, and Elisabeth Haslebeck all make rather dramatic exits from the program. In shocking news today, it was announced Sherri Shepherd will not be returning to the program next season.
To extinguish rumors, Sherri released an official statement clarifying her separation from the show. Shepherd said, “it’s been seven wonderful years on The View and after careful consideration it is time for me to move on. I look forward to the business opportunities that lay ahead for me and I am incredibly grateful to my View family and my fans for supporting me on this journey.”
Shepherd, 47, joined the talk show as a guest co-host in 2006 and later secured the full-time gig the following year.
No doubt the talk show is in a period of major renovation as veteran moderator and show creator Barbra Walters retired last month. Rumors were swirling earlier in the month that co-host Jenny McCarthy was too making arrangement to leave the show. Whoopi Goldberg could very well be the only women standing when The View returns this fall.
Best of luck to Sherri as she moves on to other endeavors. Comment below with who you would like to fill that coveted seat on The View.
