Pat Riley Says He’s Confident All Players Will Return to Miami ‘Heat’ Next Season
Pat Riley is asking everyone to take a chill pill. The Miami Heat president recently spoke with the press about his team’s loss, and told media that he’s confident that all players, including LeBron James and Dwyane Wade, will return next season.
“I’m an Irish guy that believes in big dreams,” said Riley. “I’m optimistic until that’s proven different. I just have a level of optimism that there isn’t a better place for players to be than in Miami. They’ve invested heavily in this city for the last four years.”
Although many speculate that Dwyane Wade, LeBron James, and Chris Bosh will find another team to play for after losing the NBA championship to the San Antonio ‘Spurs,’ Pat told media that he’s not aiming to beg his best players to stay. “I don’t feel any pressure,” explained the president. “I’m going to do the best job that I can do. We’re going to do the best job we can do. I don’t think we have to recruit Chris and LeBron and Dwyane again.”
He may not have to recruit Dwyane and Chris again, but Pat may want to take a shot at convincing LeBron to stay. The Miami Heat player is allegedly considering his options after the humiliating defeat his team suffered during this year’s finals, but has vowed to refrain from making a decision until after he returns from vacation.
Regardless of LeBron’s decision, Pat Riley has promised Heat fans a better team in coming months. “We’re prepared, we’ve got the main theme, book all written up and it’s dependent on whatever the scenario we’re presented with on July 1. We’ve got a lot of room for flexibility depending on what happens.”
