Iggy Azalea Finally Makes The Charts; Holds #1 & #2 Spots; Ties Beatles Record
I remember when this forced southern accented Australian beauty first hit the scene. There were certain things I was drawn to, her videos, her unlikely hip-hop face, her angles, her body…but then there were other things I had to get use to, like her voice and the (ESL) Ebonics as a Second Language. Truth be told I’m still a little bothered by her voice, and her faux-accent, but as an artist she’s grown so much, and the hustle is finally paying off.
Today Iggy matches the Beatles for a chart record. Iggy Azalea’s Fancy is number one, and Problems by Ariana Grande featuring Iggy Azalea is number two, on Billboard’s Hot 100 (99 problems and a hit’s not one)…
Iggy has two songs on the Billboard’s Hot 100 taking both of the top spots, the first time she appears on the charts. In other words, she went from having no hits, no songs making the charts, to having two hits at the same time claiming the top two spots, when she finally does make the charts. It’s nice to see the hustle and the grind, and watch an artist find her style and develop. Like she said she’s been work work working on her sh*t.
