DL Hughley Under Fire For Telling Columbus Short’s Wife To Shut Up “Thirsty H*e”; Attacking Black Women
The news has been covered with racial remarks from Donald Sterling that were made privately but leaked publicly. Little, however, has been said about D.L. Hughley and his very public remarks regarding Columbus Short and the allege violence against his wife, Tanee McCall-Short. D.L. Hughley blames Tanee McCall-Short for speaking out against Columbus Short as the reason why Columbus Short was fired from Scandal. Hughley and I quote, suggests that Tanee should shut up and deal with the violence:
I think that broad shouldn’t be telling all his business if she gone take him to court…This b*tch was thirsty. The b*tch was thirsty. What, she gone go back to dancing? She gone f**k her money up?…I don’t hate women. I hate dumb b*tches. I hate women who act against their interests.
My blood is boiling.
So this man thinks it’s funny to call Tanee McCall-Short every type of name, except for woman or wife. Then he equates filing a police report to speaking out against Columbus Short to the media. Then suggests that all black women are angry and file abuse charges against their own best interest. He also accuses Tanee of lying just to ruin Short’s career. Hughley doesn’t make any mention of the countless times Columbus has been accused of physical violence including knocking a man’s teeth out, and rendering yet another man unconscious.
I don’t know what happened between Tanee and Columbus, but I do know one of them has some serious temper issues, and the two have been facing divorce for awhile. I also know that Tanee has not made ANY public statement against Short, but Short did have a crazy interview where he says he can care less about what his wife thinks…“how about that.”
I also know there is no reason, no reason what so ever for Hughley’s misogynist rant. You can check out the rest of the radio segment from at XO Jane. The audio has since been taken down so I can’t post it for you, but you can read more about it.
You can also sign a petition requesting D.L Hughley to make a public apology to Tanee and to black women, or all women in general for his ignorant comments made on a public platform.
