Zoe Saldana To Star In NBC’s ‘Rosemary’s Baby’ Miniseries
I always like seeing our actors get big roles on network TV. I think we can say that the huge success of Scandal has aided in this but whatever the case, I’m digging it. Variety is reporting that Zoe Saldana will star in the lead role in the new NBC miniseries Rosemary’s Baby. Yes, as in the horror novel.
She will play Rosemary, the iconic young wife and would-be mother who, with her husband, moves into a Paris apartment that has a darkly storied past. After finally getting pregnant, she becomes increasingly suspicious that both her husband and their mysterious neighbors have ulterior motives about the future of her child.
I think this is amazing. I’m a fan of the novel (and iconic horror movie interpretation in 1968 starring Mia Farrow) and I’m hoping that it turns out as great as it sounds. Hmm. I wonder, with a non Caucasian lead, if the other cast will be diverse as well…
