In a day when pretty much every movie and TV show is getting some kind of a remake, it was just a matter of time before this one came up. According to Deadline, Sony Pictures will be taking on a big screen remake of the 70s Black sitcom Good Times.

Good Times focused on working-class couple James and Florida Evans as they raised three kids while struggling with hard financial times, unemployment and keeping their kids away from temptations that came with living in a Chicago housing project. The movie will be set in the 1960s, which gives Johnston a rich and politically charged period to mine.
Whew!! Good Times had some heavy and hard hitting moments that are still relevant today. No word yet on who will be playing who, or if any of the surviving cast members will be making any appearances. The cast team will have a lot of pressure for this one. Who do you guys seeing playing Florida, James, JJ, Thelma and Michael??
