To this day, the clip of hologram Tupac performing at Coachella sends a chill through me. I mean, it was spot on. Had his movements down. He was rapping lyrics and talking to the crowd like he was really there…it was a sight to see. But apparently that’s been in the works for TLC. Rozanda ‘Chilli’ Thomas told The Metro that she and Tionne ‘T-Boz’ Watkins have been working to get a hologram Lisa ‘Left-Eye’ Lopes on tour with them before.
Singer Rozonda ‘Chilli’ Thomas told Metro: ‘The hologram is something we talked about and thought about years ago, obviously timing is everything but we’re definitely talking about it.’
The death of Left-Eye – who was killed in a car crash in 2002 aged 30 – is still painful for Chilli and bandmate Tionne ‘T-Boz’ Watkins, 42, but they want to give their fans what they’ve been asking for.
‘It will be hard on us but I certainly think our fans would love to see it,’ said Chilli. ‘We would definitely be the first group to ever do it.
I can say that if I were in the audience, I don’t think I could take a full set of hologram Left-Eye. I really like TLC and Lisa‘s death was a great tragedy. I’d be staring at it the whole time, making it difficult to enjoy. But if this actually does come into fruition, I think I just might have to get involved!
