If you don’t know, the man who is the puppeteer for Sesame Street‘s Elmo is a black man by the name of Kevin Clash. Kevin actually has a documentary out called Being Elmo that talks about Kevin‘s life and how Elmo came about. If you haven’t seen it, I suggest you watch it. It really is an awesome documentary; had me crying and everything. Yesterday, TMZ posted an alarming story about someone accusing Kevin Clash of sexually abusing a child. To me, right off the bat, it sounded fishy. Kevin had taken a leave of absence from Sesame Street to fight the allegations but a lot of people took it to mean that Sesame Street fired him (even when they released a statement that said they didn’t). But not long ago, The New York Times shared that the unnamed accuser has now recanted his story.

Andreozzi & Associates, a law firm that said it represented the accuser, who has never been named, said in a statement that “he wants it to be known that his sexual relationship with Mr. Clash was an adult consensual relationship.” The statement added, “He will have no further comment on the matter.”
