President Obama’s emotional campaign comes to a tearful end as he thanks the youth who worked tirelessly as volunteers to get him re-elected. I always wonder how he handles the day to day grind; how he handles the name calling and the viciousness of politics; how he handles the racial element that’s been added on top of it all. Apparently he is inspired by the youth and the power of the next generation to bring about change.
Ain’t going to lie. He almost got me to…Whoa…Watch the video below via Mother Jones:
Remember when 50 Cent bailed Floyd Mayweather out of jail and they were the best of buddies? So much so that 50 decided to get into the boxing business with Floyd and work as his manager? Well, apparently that’s no longer the case because over the past month 50 and Floyd have been tweeting insults at each other back and forth.
Because that’s the grown up thing to do. And according to AllHipHop.com, some one wants to help them squash the beef. No, not DJ Clue. Billionaire Alki David, that’s who. Seems like he and Damon Feldman of Celebrity Boxing want to offer up a cash pot of $5 Million for them to slug it out.
According to David, the show would air on FilmOn.com and BattleCam.com, two ventures that David owns or is an investor in.
To make things safe, Floyd Mayweather Jr. and 50 Cent would fight three 2-minute rounds in head-gear, along with big celebrity boxing gloves.
The proposed fight will happen in Las Vegas, Nevada on December 14, if either of the two men accept the offer.
Clearly, Jermaine Jackson has too much time on his hands. And needs something to do with his life. Because left to his own devices…something like THIS happens. According to The Huffington Post, Jermaine is petitioning the court to legally change his last name from Jackson to Jacksun. Yes, I’m serious.
The older brother of Michael Jackson filed a name change petition on Tuesday in Los Angeles, stating the switch was for “artistic reasons.”
The filing doesn’t elaborate, but Jackson’s friend Steve Dennis, who was speaking on the singer’s behalf, said it’s not unheard of for artists to change their names. “Phonetically, it changes nothing,” he said.
“It is something he has chosen to do, and it’s fair to say that you cannot blame this one on the boogie, you’ve got to blame it on the sunshine,” Dennis said, in a play on the Jackson 5 disco hit, “Blame it on the Boogie.”
I don’t know why people are REALLY hard pressed over Zoe Saldana playing Nina Simone. Yes, physically it’s a stretch but it’s not like we haven’t seen actors playing roles of people who aren’t their physical or even ethnic equal. My only concern is I don’t want it to come off as campy. But there are people out there with a whole list of reasons. The next singer to publicly speak out is singer India.Arie. Writing a message that was posted on NinaSimone.com, India pretty much puts Zoe through the ringer and hangs her out to dry. There’s strong words, lots of exclamation points and LOTS of cap locked yelling in what I can only call a rant. It’s also interesting to note that India mentions that SHE looks just like Nina and had always been open to playing her. Hmm. Jealousy or nah? Read the full message below and judge for yourself:
WHAT I FEEL ABOUT THE NINA SIMONE MOVIE:
People have been asking me for weeks, months, years about a Nina Simone movie, when I heard about Zoe Saldana being cast I reserved judgement, you NEVER know what People are MEANT to do.
SO TODAY I saw the images of Zoe Saldana as Nina Simone…
AND I THINK THEY ARE RIDICULOUS!
