One of my favorite events is Black Girls Rock! 2012 which honors black women in the industry who provide a positive image in the media for girls of color. This year’s hosts include Tracee Ellis Ross and Regina King, who also hosted last year’s awards show. This year’s honorees include Alicia Keys, Kerry Washington, Susan Taylor, Somali activist Dr. Hawa Abdi, and Dionne Warwick.
