Check out Denzel Washington in a suit on the cover of GQ magazine (pictures after the jump). I almost had an Idris Elba moment when I saw the cover of the October issue. Get it Denzel! Mr. Washington sat down with GQ magazine for an exclusive interview, where he revealed a lot of intimate details about himself.
Do you have any code you live by?
I read from the Bible every day, and I read my Daily Word. I read something great yesterday. It said, “Don’t aspire to make a living. Aspire to make a difference.”
Well!…more of that when you continue…including his thoughts on Whitney Houston and her drug addiction.
You can always count on a book to lead to some spilling of tea. This is the case with Wyclef Jean and his new book Purpose: An Immigrant’s Story, which was published today. According to The New York Post, Purpose takes an in-depth look at Wyclef‘s relationship with Pras and Lauryn Hill and talks about the rise and fall of their group The Fugees. On that same token, Wyclef points to the paternity of Lauryn‘s first son a major reason to why the group fell apart:
“In that moment something died between us. I was married and Lauryn and I were having an affair, but she led me to believe that the baby was mine, and I couldn’t forgive that,” Jean writes in “Purpose,” at which The Post got a first look yesterday.
The Haitian-born Jean says the betrayal by Hill led to the band’s 1997 breakup.
“She could not longer be my muse,” he wrote. “Our love spell was broken.”
The elusive Royal One Prince made his way to The View yesterday and rocked yet another different look, to no one’s surprise. However, I don’t think we could have predicted Prince rocking a natural look! Almost didn’t recognize him there!
Prince was on The View to discuss his music and his upcoming concerts, which will benefit the Rebuild The Dream organization. Having already played in New York and Canada, this next show will take place in Chicago, a city that has been under heavy news coverage over the past months. From multiple shootings every weekend (we’re talking at LEAST 30 people!) to the recent strike of teachers, Chicago could definitely use some love and support. What better way than to have a concert by the almighty Prince, huh? Check out the clip below:
