Robin Roberts of Good Morning America is temporarily leaving the show on Friday to begin medical treatment for MDS. Roberts, after battling breast cancer discovered she has a rare blood and bone marrow disease known as MDS (myelodysplastic syndrome). Roberts sister, Sally, will serve as Roberts’ donor.

It still takes about 10 days after being admitted because there are some things you have to go through before the (bone marrow) transplant actually occurs.
