This could possibly be most epic or most hilarious, but I’m interested, either way. According to Variety, Samuel L Jackson is in talks to star in the gospel musical Black Nativity, a remake based on a Langston Hughes‘ written Broadway gospel play. Also in talks to star with him are Angela Bassett and Jennifer Hudson.
Black Nativity is about a young black teen from Baltimore who is sent to Harlem by his mother to spend Christmas with the grandparents he’s never met. Through his grandfather’s Christmas Eve sermon and a stylized, dream-sequence retelling of the classic Nativity story, he learns about the importance of faith and family. Samuel L Jackson has had a busy year thus far, with The Avengers making loads of money and starring in indie films Meeting Evil and The Samaritan (both of which I’ve seen and enjoyed) and is currently filiming Quentin Tarantino‘s Django Unchained so I hope he can fit this in. I mean, who WOULDN’T want to see Samuel L Jackson angrily sing his way through a movie? LOL Check out the trailer for Sam’s upcoming film Django Unchained, when you continue…
This has a feeling of honesty that’s quite refreshing in an industry that doesn’t always appreciate it. R&B crooner Frank Ocean of Odd Future, took to his Tumblr to talk about the first time he fell in love with a male friend.
4 summers ago, I met somebody. I was 19 years old. He was too. We spent that summer, and the summer after, together. Everyday almost. And on the days we were together, time would glide. Most of the day I’d see him, and his smile. I’d hear his conversation and his silence..until it was time to sleep. Sleep I would often share with him. By the time I realized I was in love, it was malignant. It was hopeless. There was no escaping, no negotiating with the feeling. No choice. It was my first love, it changed my life.
The post also talks about how we all are human beings and when we feel alone, we really aren’t. There are other people out there experiencing what we are and we shouldn’t feel alone in the world. It’s a great read. Get the full post, when you continue…
