It’s the Friday before Memorial Weekend and it’s looking like there will be no lack of laughs and WTF moments because of the holiday. As I was surfing through the Twitterverse last night (follow me here!), I came across a couple of pictures that made me just take a minute. First up to bat, actor and former host of Reading Rainbow, Levar Burton.
Levar posted this picture of what appears to be a new tattoo last night. When you tilt your head to the right, it says Levar. But…if you tilt your head to the left, it says…Kunta. As in Kunta Kinte, his slave character from the classic film Roots. My first reaction was confusion, as I felt a little bit of my childhood innocence slip away. Then I laughed. Then I understood, because that role was a vital part of his career. But then I laughed again. Then, not to be out done, Kim Kardashian posted this picture of her brother Rob Kardashian and brother-in-law Scott Disick taking a nap at the airport:
So how many of you got tickets to one of the most coveted shows of the year? This weekend marks the return of Beyoncé to the stage, after giving birth to daughter Blue Ivy. Revel Resorts in Atlantic City, New Jersey is hosting Bey for shows on May 26th to May 28th. I happen to know of a few people who are down there preparing now. Beyoncé has made a making of video to mark this special occassion.
The first thing I noticed off the bat was that her voice sounds a little bit deeper to me. I experienced the same thing in the aftermath of my pregnancy as well, so I commend her for being able to hit those notes with the same vocal range and intensity as before. This video also revels just how much she throws herself into the planning of the shows, from lighting to angles to choreography to sets. Check out the video below:
Boxer Floyd Mayweather reports to jail to serve his 90 day sentence stemming from domestic abuse charges with his ex-girlfriend, Josie Harris in front of their kids. He was originally scheduled to serve time January 6th, but his time was pushed back so that he could fulfill contractual obligations to fight, Miguel Cotto.
Las Vegas judge sentenced him to 90 days in jail after he pleaded guilty to a reduced battery domestic violence charge and no contest to two harassment charges. The case stemmed from a hair-pulling, punching and arm-twisting argument with his ex-girlfriend Josie Harris while two of their children watched in September 2010.
