Trayvon Martin Update: His Last Phone Call To Teenage Girl; Grand Jury Set For April 10th

If the cops would have just tried to do their job and stand-up for the true victim (Trayvon Martin) in this case, George Zimmerman would be in jail. As more and more evidence is uncovered, there is no way that George Zimmerman should have been able to claim self-defense. But things are now turning around thanks to so many of you who have signed the petition at Change.org, and made sure this story found its way into mainstream media. There is some good news, the US Justice Department will open an investigation as well as the FBI, and hopefully some cops will be fired, too.

While the FACTS keep coming in, it’s evident that Trayvon Martin was not looking for trouble, and lived his last moments in utter fear. A 16-year old teenage girl recounts her last phone call with Trayvon Martin just seconds before he was killed. It appears that Trayvon was running for his life because he saw a strange man in a SVU following him. The teenage girl on the phone told him to, “Run!”…

”He said this man was watching him, so he put his hoodie on. He said he lost the man,” the girl told ABC News. “I asked Trayvon to run, and he said he was going to walk fast. I told him to run but he said he was not going to run.”

According to accounts gleaned from 911 audio recordings made the night of the killing and the teenage girl’s statements, Martin eventually did run. But Zimmerman wasn’t far behind, and soon the two would be face to face. Zimmerman, the self-appointed captain of the neighborhood watch, was armed with a 9mm pistol. Trayvon had little more than a bag of candy in his pocket.

“Trayvon said, ‘What are you following me for?’ and the man said, ‘What are you doing here?’ Next thing I hear is somebody pushing, and somebody pushed Trayvon because the headset just fell. I called him again and he didn’t answer the phone.”

The line went dead, according to the girl’s account. {Trayvon Martin Last Phone Call To Teenage Girl}

We all know what happens next. Five minutes later the cops arrive and Trayvon is dead.

    • @Cole,

Thanks! I agree I get more comments about Beyonce’s pregnancy that about this young man’s life. Sad!

  2. This is why it is more than important for African American’s to teach our children about our past struggles as people, so that when they see any type of injustice, they report it to us immediatley! We think we have come far, but the only thing that occured since the Civil Rights Movement is, now prejudice has become hidden and covered up, even more so. As an African American woman, I will be joining the NAACP, and making yearly contributions simply because we need to get and give back to our roots! I have a 13yr. old and as a mother, I am so over protective, but do we want to stop our children from being able to walk to the store? I hear that Tayvon’s school didn’t offer grievence counseling to his fellow class mates, and they weren’t allowed to discuss it on school grounds! REALLY! Come on parents, stick together and go to the dam school and demand some services for your kids. Our children are our future and despite some of the crime in our communites, I continue to believe in our babies. We are strong and the evidence is: We are still here, standing, working, raising families and contributing to this country! I want to give my blessings to the family for being able to speak to the press during these diffcult times, cause I know it has to be more than a chore to get out of bed in the morning and start another day! May God continue to Bless and watch over that family! For all the other families, start taking your children to the Museums, they have the new National Underground Railroad Freedom Center in Cincinnati. There is so much out there for our childrent our children to see regarding our fight for freedom, these kids have to know the details of our struggle and how we got to where we are so that, no one, can take our God given rights from us.

    • @Julia Seals,

I have two boys and so I know you have to start early, and you have to keep them steeped in culture and education. You have to train them to be the best, because people will always see them as less.

I too pray for his mom, because I don’t know what I would do.

  3. Poor baby,we have to start speaking up for what is right. The neighborhood watch man needs to be tried and convicted. He has no right to take a life. If you are not reacting in hate, why kill? I get tickets for putting a tree on my curb!! I don’t understand that Zimmerman, man needs to be put in jail, like yesterday!!!Cold blooded murderer!!

  4. Finally! A First step, but not really that important. Police chief stepped aside on his own,not “DOWN”,just temporary vacation with pay. While the TOWN COON has been looking like an uncle tom character who can’t blink his eyes for some reason, speaking “good ole boys”prepared speaches for the cameras. He alone had and has the power to arrest this man but couldn’t even fire or demand police chief to stand down. Political republican shyt if you ask me. Thinkin’ there’s gonna be a race war with hispanics. NOT!! This is a republican “Jim Crow” law made for just what happened to Trayvon…and the whole nation knows it.Republicans will be held responsible!

    • @reita collins,

Yeah, he didn’t really step down. That’s just politics and smoke and mirror. When Zimmerman is charged with a crime that he has to fight in a court of law, that’s when I will feel progress has been made.

  5. Gotta give it up for my man Al Sharpton. He’s always been and will always be our voice when we have no voice in this abyss these devils THINK they are creating for us.All their shyt these blind azzholes are voting for will come back to bite them in their azzez before Obama’s been out of office one year.

    • @reita collins,

No comment on Al Sharpton. But I am glad people are standing up for Trayvon.
