After seven years of not having an official host, LL Cool J has been chosen as the host of this year’s 54th Annual Grammy Awards. That’s a pretty big deal! The last time The Grammys had an official host was Queen Latifah, back in 2005.
“I’m thrilled to be part of Music’s Biggest Night,” said LL COOL J. “I will always have fond memories of my first GRAMMY Awards and to now be hosting the GRAMMY show, in the company of so many other incredible artists, is a dream come true. Great performances and great music — it’s gonna be a great night!”
Congrats on that, LL! LL has been hosting The GRAMMY Nominations Concert Live!! — Countdown To Music’s Biggest Night events since it began in December 2008. He’s put in some time with the folks over at The Grammys, so it’s nice to see his hard work pay off in a big way. The night will also include a first time opportunity for nominee Nicki Minaj…This will be her first time performing on the show. I’m kind of interested in what kind of show she’ll put on for the crowd, knowing of her past…umm…unique? Extreme?…ways of performing. Other nominees performing include Bruno Mars, Kelly Clarkson and former Kanye victim Taylor Swift.
