Actress Kyla Pratt announced recently on 106 & Park that she has a one year old daughter, Lyric Kai. People were very surprised to learn that not only does she have a daughter but no one in the media knew or reported the pregnancy. Since Pratt’s announcement on BET, people have been digging up dirt and making negative comments regarding her daughter’s father, Danny Kirkpatrick. Rumors have been circulating that Danny is a male stripper. People have also been making smart comments about Kyla intentionally hiding her pregnancy. So Miss Pratt decides to set the record straight on Tumblr, and defend her man.

Woke up this morning to some bullshit so i decided to blog about it. I announced a little over a month ago that i have a one year old daughter named Lyric. Ever since then there has been mostly negativity thrown our way. This is something that i knew would happen so THAT is why i delayed the process of sharing my happiness with this lovely world. I did not HIDE. I was out doing everything i normally do. Please believe i was not in the house looking at the wall waiting for time to pass. Jus because i didn’t publicize my pregnancy or try to make money off of it doesnt mean i am not proud of my daughter or her Father.

I don’t think Kyla Pratt owes anyone a thing, and it’s sad that she has to respond to such nonsense. I’m sure the only reasons she is speaking out is to protect her love ones. I have liked Kyla Pratt since I first saw her on In The House with LL Cool J.
